Your Cricket Me bowling leg spin.

I usually take 5 steps before bowling.

But I don't think about my foot position, my body weight, etc.

Where do you think my body weight was going?

I went to the nets today with my mates.

I bowled alright, was getting a fair bit of turn.

But I was easily cut and pulled. And whenever I bowled it fuller, I was advanced at and smashed.

I'm more of a flatter leggie. I can get a fair bit of bounce, but it makes it easier for the batsmen to cut and pull me.

Has anyone got any tips?

first of all, try not to be a flat bowler, flight it - by giving the ball more air you are getting more spin and more spin means more worry's for the batsmen. secondly, take the batsmen coming down the pitch as a positive, because that sometimes means the batsmen is underestimating you, but by this they could be getting stumped, bowled and caught.

and don't worry about being smashed in the nets, in a real match theres a 50/50 chance that they'll get cuaght in the outfield.

good luck and sorry if this sounded like a load of crap to you.

So you're saying I'd get more spin if I flighted it? I'm already getting heaps of spin by bowling flat.

When i bowl leggies i only flight the ball when trying to tempt batsmen to go for the slog, otherwise i just give it massive rip and keep it flat

If it is short, spin is worthless. Since the batsman can adjust.

If it is full, spin the width of half the bat results in an edge.

I agre,e
as in aus i am begining season and have started bowling well

its about having a lot of rip and flight,
if you bowl short its not good enough, my tip
try and rip it as much as you can for hours and hours just geting that
consistency perfect

Flight it more. Bowl it fuller, and in the rough. Don't be afraid to go around the wicket and try to bowl him around the legs. Just like Warnie.
And learn to do the flippers or the straighter ones. They WILL come in handy, as most young batsmen play for the spin alot. Slip in the odd finger spinner. Learn to do an arm ball as well so even if he reads it, he didn't read it right :p. use the flatter one as a variation, not a stock delivery.

The odd shorter one can work with a leg break because the batsman won't want to defend or leave, instead he will want to cut it and punish it. If he is surprised or not very good on the shot, there is a bottom and a top edge that both end badly without having a lot of fielders around the bat.

Generally though, too full is better than too short.
