Melbourne Bitters 06/07 Team Thread

I think it's convienent that whenever we don't bat first in a first-class match that we don't always get off to a relatively good start. :D

We are the second best team on the web now then. Shame, I think it was rigged though :p

We are the best team, well atleast equal to it. They haven't beaten us more times then they've beaten us. :p We also beat them first up & were undefeated throughout the season.

I'll be back in acouple of days boys.

Well you bowlers only bowl well on pitches that suit you. Us batsmen bat well on poor pitches and still get results - we get a good pitch and we can't take wickets. Seems to me that the bowlers aren't pulling there weight.

If you could folow up 197 with a double figure score then we could've won, we bowl just fine, Duff lost us that game, in fact YOU lost us that game, "Oooh you always use poor pitches and we win, but that isn't good, we want to score more runs and lose because we're batsmen, make it excellent so brad can score runs," and then we lose

you guys have 1 more excellent pitch to prove that its worth it (one OD and one FC that is) if we lose those then back to our poor :)

Duff lost us that game,
Well I'm always willing to put some blame on Duff

in fact YOU lost us that game,
Code:
Player Mch In Runs Avge S/R HS 50 100
B Brad352 1 2 201 100.5 65.47 197 0 1

Because the pitch is sufficiently bad that you don't actually have to bowl well, but we're all guns and can still score a few runs before we get hit in the head by half volleys and then bowled by bouncers

aus5892 said:
but that isn't good,
That's good, but so is a fair contest between bat and ball- and after all, you blokes like to tell us how good you are so you won't have a problem taking 20 wickets

aus5892 said:
we want to score more runs
Of course

aus5892 said:
and lose because we're batsmen,
We lost because you blokes couldn't bowl the Donkeys out twice, we only lost 12 wickets

aus5892 said:

Brad scores runs in any conditions, shame it doesn't work the other way around

and then we lose
On the bright side there's no shortage of scapegoats:

Our beloved captain, 2 declarations and 2/182
Duff, 1/172 and 4*(11) when batting for a declaration
Embi, 0/46 and 1(37), 4*(25) when batting for a declaration

To be fair you bowled rather well

Why don't we just use normal/excellent for one dayers when we won't have to make dodgy declarations and get draws and normal/poor for 4 dayers? I'm not a big fan of losing

To answer the obvious question, I do have a lot of time on my hands at this point
