Melbourne Bitters 06/07 Team Thread

After careful consideration I believe the best format is no all-rounders, 6 bats and 5 bowls, but this is impossible in one dayers cause the pure batsman are given a bowl instead (eek) although cric_craze took a wicket, so I suggest that we keep duff in the side for one dayers, but in fc we go all pures.

Should maybe consider dropping Cric_Craze in OD's. Doesn't look like a OD player to me. Has a far lower strike-rate then everyone else this season and has the lowest batting average of all of the pure batsman. Maybe give Rabbitoh Rob ago?
Cric_Craze is an idiot though because I've seen him post in other areas of the forum but yet he ditches us.

if you have no intention of playing on anything excellent why always beg me to make it excellent ???????
In first class games that is, no point bringing a draw into the occasion- I complain when it's poor every second game. One dayers are a different story

You don't need 5 bowlers in FC, and that's a very long tail in a one dayer.

This post should be of interest, they use pretty much exactly the same averages as we do

Well just a reminder that aggression means nothing, your average is just how good you are, there is no aggression involved in the stats.

Batting average of 34 though? Everyone else has averages in the 40s.
Squiz averages over 50 in FC, so I shifted him up to opener as I think I'm a natural number 4 as after our last game have the second highest OD average in the team.
Here's my teams anyway.

Squiz
Left Hander
Wfdu_Ben91

Everyone has the same average, depending only on their preselected type, which rickyp sets for everyone. All batsman have the same skill in the game, results are really just pure luck.

And the captain is rickyp, because he organizes it all, and you don't pick the keeper or captain for the side anyway, but I'll test out your sides in my practices.

Really? Ah rats! I just wanted to toss the blame on Brad if he won the toss and selected to bowl and our bowling attack gets slaughtered for 500 odd in the first innings and this prompts us into an unwinnable position.
On the otherhand, I don't think it's luck. I think the sim immediately sets it's favourites over a period of time.

It's developed in MS-DOS, it doesn't have AI, I doubt it has favourites, in fact I'd be pretty willing to bet on it. As for your OD side, it's not too bad, however I don't really think Rob deserves a go, he hasn't really posted at all this year, and I'm going to give Simbazz the go in a few tests since he's been one of our most active members.

By the way, I vote for a normal pitch, because our batting lineup in my tests seems to be able to set totals on normal ones, but not to chase totals on excellent, so it's my vote, who's with me?

Hang on, does anyone know anything about the file 'checker' because it seems to have something that might just qualify as players having talent, it rates your players out of 100 and might have something to do with their ability in the game.

No offence to Simmo, but I thought we were going for the best possible team we can make even with exclusions of posting members. FC matches have no room for batting allrounders.

Where'd you find the file checker? I know Brad must've rigged something. ;)

In the main folder, it tells you player's and team's values, (ironically Brad is just below 60/100).

Strangely enough. I created our team file on my sim and it comes up with the same exact pts! I think the lower must be the better.

Opps. I mean, I don't think they mean anything.
