Melbourne Victory has announced they will have a new manager. Hayden Sumner the 19 year old Manager has taken over his home club Victory after the Melbourne club decided it was time to have a change in scenery.

Victory chairman Geoff Lord welcomes Sumner to the Telstra Dome. Even though the media will critise Sumner for the first few weeks of his time on the job, Lord says he will always have the support from Lord and his chairman board. Sumner has been given a 2 year deal with the Melbourne Victory, which should see Sumner be very succesful, or slide the team down to the bottom.

Geoff Lord believes that Victory can win the A-League this season, or atleast finish in the top 3, but we are aiming to win this A-League season.
We have a very even and structured team. Everyone knows our weakness is in the midfield, but with Sumner taking over, hopefully he can recruit a good midfield player so we can be a stronger team.

Ernie Merrick has wished Hayden well for the future after taking over the job from Merrick who has successfully taken his team to glory, hopefully Sumner can continue this.

In other news, Lucas Neil has been announced the Australian captain ahead of Tony Popovic as his Vice-Captain.
