The Demons have won their Round 1 clash against the Crows at the MCG yesterday afternoon. The Demons led at every change to come away 37 point winners. The Demons led by Aaron Davey and Nathan Jones, as they steered the Demons into victory of their own hands. Jones who had 34 touches and kicked 3 goals was the Dees best, was clearly best on ground and not just for the Dees. Jones who has had a massive pre season for the Demons, is now one of the leadership group players at the club and will be looking forward to a huge season in the midfield, as he has put on extra kilo's.
Aaron Davey kicked 5 goals up forward. He was too quick for the Crows defence, and just swooped on everything that hit the ground. He was in and out of packs, and that was the difference between the two sides today.
The Crows who only had Brad Fisher and Trent Hentschel both kick multiple goals did kick themselves out of the game. 7.14 they kicked for the game, as many players missed the target. It was a good sign though for the Crows to see their new recruits get amongst the action. Fisher kicking 2 goals, Willard having 17 touches and kicking a goal, while Ben McKinely also slotted home a major.
Chris Knights is looking to take the next step as a leader of the Crows, as he had 36 touches from the midfield, and he started the first 10 minutes on the bench.
Only 26 thousand fans came to watch this game, a number certainly down on record.
Adelaide number 10 draft pick, Donnie Willard had a virus leading into the game, he played the rest of the game, but had to come off the ground because of the virus about 15 minutes to go in the last quarter, he sat out the rest of the game.

Crows win at home
Adelaide have won their first game of the 09 season against the Bulldogs yesterday at Aami Stadium infront of just over 30,000 people. The Crows who had a spiratual 5 goal haul from Jason Porplyzia were a different side from last week. They were more attacking in their style. The Crows have been known as a defensive team when it comes to their game style, but their coach Hayden told them it had to be attacking from now on, or people will start getting sick of the way we play. Neil Craig mastered the defensive game plan, but now Sumner wants to change things around a little.
"I mean sure it worked for Craigy, but we are totally different people, i like to try new things so it worked today. I'm not saying it will work out all the time, but we can certainly give it a shot.
Youngster Chris Knights continued his good form from last week again, kicking 3 goals for the home team, while the absense of Brett Burton has allowed Trent Hentschel play some time at Full-Forward. He certainly did his job this week kicking 3 goals as well. Jarhan Jacky was very good in his first match for the Crows and did a good job in defence.
Overall it was a good team effort from the Crows and they certainly deserved the victory.
And the Crows will also be boostered with the returns of Brett Burton and Sam Gilbert into the lineup next week.
Good win for the Crows there. Porplyzia played well and Craig Knight looks like he could be a star of the future. Hopefully you can continue this winning form.
A good read mate, no spelling or grammar mistakes and well presented

Crows sneak home by a point
The Crows infront of 21, 972 fans at the Telstra Dome have won a classic game of footy by just 1 point. In a close encounter at the Dome, the goal kicking machine of the Crows held out the fast finishing Roos in one of the best games of the season. It was just a fantastic match overall. It was close from the start, and the finish was anyones to overcome. But it was the Crows in the end and that's all that matters to their coach Hayden Sumner.
"We had a lot of single goal kickers today, i mean sure that is ok, but we have always wanted a big hitting Full-Forward, like your Franklins or like Lloyd who just dominate games off their own boot. Having 11 different goal kickers won't win you every single game of the year, because it is possible to find 11 different goal kickers every week, and the game just doesn't role like that. We had a defender kick our highest score today in Rutten who booted 2 goals. We also had to rely heavily on our midfield to kick our goals, Reilly, Vince, Symes, Goodwin and Douglas. Brett Burton who has been a target up forward for us, should be right next week. McKinley has had game time for us for the first 3 games, although he has kicked 3 goals for the year, i think it might be time he needs a couple of games in the SANFL to get some form back up and running.
Graham Johncock had a massive 46 touches of the football, one of the highest counts ever in the history of the game. While Chris Knights kept up his good season going, with another 26 disposals off the interchange.
The game against the Roos was much tougher than I'd have thought. I hope you can take these two wins and continue your good form (except against the Lions ).
Looks like you need to find yourself a decent full-forward as it appears your guys were a wee bit lucky today. Still, a win is a win, so it is a good result at the end of the day.
Round 4 - 2009 - Adelaide vs Port Adelaide @ Aami Stadium

Power win in showdown
The Power have won the Showdown in their Round 4 clash with the Crows at Aami Stadium on Friday night. A massive crowd of 40,539 fans came to the Stadium to watch this very good contest. 8 points seperated the two teams as Danyle Pearce kicked 4 goals for the Power who was the difference between the two sides. It was a hard hitting contest, and a lot of fights broke out during the duration of the match. But it was a all fair contest, and no one was hurt in the end. The Power have won their 3rd match of the season, as the Crows are sitting 8th with a 2-2 record.
For the Power, Danyle Pearce was their best player, kicking 4 goals, and picking up 25 touches along the way. He continued his tradition with dominating the Crows line-up. The Crows didn't have the speed to keep up with Pearce, as they tried McLeod to tag Pearce. McLeod's 32 year old legs couldn't keep up with the speed of Pearce. Tredrea, David Rodan and Motlop all kicked 2 goals.
Chad Cornes was the highest possesion count for the Power with 25 disposals and with his brother Kane, they both picked up 48 possesions between them and they both had great games.
The Crows on the other hand shouldn't be dissapointed too much about this game. As they played well for the entire match, but was just over run by a much fitter side. Brett Burton came back for his first match for the Crows for the year, and showed how faluable he is too the team. He came back and kicked 3 goals for the home side, and with his team mate Jason Porplyzia who also kicked 3 goals, it is looking to be a different setup for the Crows this year. Their Captain Simon Goodwin moved up forward and kicked 2 goals after he kicked 30 goals last season.
Just under 40,000 fans packed Aami Stadium only to see their home team get smacked by the Magpies. The travelling side, had a fantastic team effort game, and it was too much for the Crows who had the home fans screaming to try and spur them on and to try and get the team to lift a bit. "We played very poorly today, this is probably one of the worst losses we have had, and i am ashamed in the team effort. But we need to learn from this, and not let it happen again throughout the season.
Collingwood had a big spread of goal kickers. They didn't need to rely on their Full -Forward in Travis Cloke, who didn't score for the whole day, it was a good job from Nathan Bock who kept Cloke quiet. But it was also a good job from the Magpies to find more goal kickers, something the Crows couldn't do. 9 different goal scorers for the Pies today, and the leader was unknown goal kicker, Tarykn Lockyer. Lockyer is mainly a defender, but he got under the Crows guard today and provided 3 majors for the away side. Captain Scott Burns, Youngsters, Scott Pendlbury, Alan Didak and Paul Medhurst all featured with a couple each.
Alan Didak had a dominate game. He was dangerous around goals, but he also picked up touches in the midfield, a position he has always wanted to play. Didak ended up picking 44 touches for the match, his career best.
The Crows didn't give much help to Jason Porplyzia who kicked 5 goals for the home side. He was the only player to kick more then one goal, considering the team only kicked 7 overall. It was a miserable performance from the home team, and the crowd were very dissapointed and angry in the display they provided today.
Brad Symes tried hard with 32 touches, while their new back recruit, Sam Gilbert started to find some good form again, being one of the Crows better players having 26 disposals.
Never expected to beat Collingwood. Porplyzia one man show for Crows, terrible. At least you'll be able to get some good draft picks from early on seeing as you're doing so badly.
In a pretty tight battle for the whole day, regning premiers Geelong took a while before they could knock off the gallant Crows. 38 points in the end seperated the two sides, but it was a much closer then the scoreboard reads. The Crows were infront at Quarter time, something that Geelong fans aren't use to seeing. Only 4 goals seperated the two sides all afternoon down at Skilled Stadium infront of 24,587 fans.
The Cats fans have something to look forward to this year and that is the emergence of Full Forward, Tom Hawkins. This kid is a mamonth unit, and as he showed against the Crows, he can play footy. Hawkins kicked 4 goals for the home side, and showed he is one of the powerhouses in the AFL. Nathan Bock was his opponent all afternoon and they had a duall on their hands. Nathan Bock was the leading Crows dispsosals winner and leading on the ground finishing with 36 touches ahead of Gary Ablett who had 35.
Paul Chapman got under the guard of the Crows team, and finished off with style. With 2 late goals from Chapman, which saw the end of the game for the Crows.
Matthew Scarlett was one of their best players for the day as he played on Brett Burton for the first two quarters. Scarlett beat Burton easily, as the Birdman didn't end up troubling on the scoreboard, and once Scarlett moved off him, Josh Hunt was the man to finish him off. Burton had a miserable day in the end.
For the Crows, it was another one man show from Jason Porplyzia. Another 4 goals has taken his tally to 24 for the season, and is now sitting 4th on the Goal kicking table behind the leader Lance Franklin on 29. The next Crow after that is Brett Burton on 12, so it shows how valuable Porplyzia is to this team. If it wasn't for him, the Crows would be sitting near dead last. But with players like Porplyzia, Bock and Symes who are all having career best years, it is hard to see the Crows finishing less then 12th.
