Mitchell Johnson keen to open the batting

Really? Warner 7 ODI average of 15, 8 T20I average of 34. And yes the format does make a difference, in T20 Warner plays his natural game, in ODI Warner has been told to tone it down. Don't believe me well 1st ODI: Australia v New Zealand at Perth, Feb 1, 2009 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com and 2nd ODI: Australia v New Zealand at Melbourne, Feb 6, 2009 | Cricket Scorecard | Cricinfo.com Does that look like Warner slogging it?

Well, it's a quality team he's playing against :spy

Well, I reckon he's started to free his arms out more in the longer formats, would probably go for it in ODI's now. Like Gilly, not as if he's gonna bat faster in a T20 than a Test Match.....

Well, maybe he would, but you know what I mean.....

Valvoline ;)

That is ideally what he should do. But with the pressure on him to perform and the selectors constantly telling him to play sensibly, he won't have much choice. If he can carry his CLT20 form which wasn't even slogging then he should have no problem making it back to the ODI team.

He's a good enough player to score runs quickly without having to slog, I suppose....

Especially on the off side, with cuts, cover drives, etc...
