This is a four-day match between the winners of the first class competitions in Pakistan and India.

Pakistan, being represented by SNGPL (Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited), while India is being represented by Delhi.

SNGPL squad has 3 main international players:

Delhi has 5 main international players:

This 4-day game will take place from September 15 to 18.

I think this would be an excellent competition to compare the domestic levels of India and Pakistan - I believe India have won this trophy twice in the last 2 times it was played, correct?

Asad Ali > the whole Delhi team

He's going to eat them up like a bubble gum if he gets a chance to play,

Well, this game is evenly poised currently. I don't think theres any TV coverage as far as I know, but the game is ebbing and flowing.

I'll summarize the big events from the newspaper:

Delhi won the toss, and Sehwag chose to bat

However, things didn't start off well, with Virender "Delhi is not Pakistan" Sehwag bowled by Imran Ali for duck.

Then a few overs later, Chopra went, caught behind off Asad Ali for 4.

Delhi 4/2, and a partnership develops between Kohli and Manhas.

Imran Khalid, the left arm spinner flighted a ball, and Manhas hit it straight back to Khalid, caught and bowled. Now this starts Delhi's collapse - 90/3

First Asad Ali came into the attack, and produced a ball from bowling wider of the wicket, and got the ball to swing out, where it caught the edge of Bhatia's bat, taken by Adnan Akmal (incidently Kamran Akmal's brother) - 107/4

Now, Delhi 118/4, in a troubling situation. In comes Imran Ali. Imran Ali produces a peach of an outswinger (or so the article says) and gets Tehlan on the front foot, edge taken by Adnan. Very next ball, he takes Nanda's wicket, clean bowling him with a very full delivery which he didn't pick up.

Imran Ali was on a hat-trick, but had to wait one over to bowl his 3rd ball in an attempt to get it. In the next over, he gets the big man, the set Kohli for 52, caught behind. It may have been a dubious decision as Kohli was not happy, but there was no way to confirm it, however the author says that there was a woody sound, implying the ball either took the edge of the bat, or the batsman hit the pads while the ball went through.

Either way, Imran Ali got a hat-trick and decimated Delhi. Delhi went to 134 all out with Teeli Sharma the last man out, LBW to a full ball by Imran Ali.

In come SNGPL to bat, and they didn't have to best of starts, with Yasir Arafat (batsman) falling LBW to an Ashish Nehra delivery. Hafeez and Umar Akmal (another brother of Kamran Akmal - very good U-19 batsman, but was unimpressive when I personally saw him on TV) consolidated, and Hafeez even took on Sharma for six runs over long on.

However he too fell to Nehra, caught at gully for 28. 56/2

Azhar Shafiq came in, and again worked with Umar Akmal till Shafiq went, lbw to Sangwan. The author notes Shafiq did not like the decision, however the decision looked fine from where he was (no audible bat sound indicating an inside edge). Shafiq went for 22

In comes Pakistan's premier international batsman, Misbah-ul-Haq. He didn't last long, with a googly from Nanda ripping through Misbah-ul-Haq's defense for 9

SNGPL in a similar situation to Delhi, at 113/4. Then Ashish Nehra came back into the attack, and got Umar Akmal trapped on the back foot when he should have been forward, and fell LBW for a valiant 58. 118/5

In comes Khurram Shehzad, joined by Adnan Akmal. Adnan Akmal played 2 lovely drives, till he fell to an inswinger by Ashish Nehra LBW. 133/6

Then Teeli Sharma came back into the attack, and Imran Khalid went for a hook, but didn't get it over the rope -taken by Aakash Chopra. 171/7

Now, SNGPL had a stroke of luck when Imran Ali on 11 struck a ball very hard past mid wicket where Sehwag was stationed, and Sehwag got a hand to the ball. The author notes that it was a difficult catch, but should have been taken by first-class standards.

Imran Ali scored 36, which was really required by the team to get in front of Delhi. However he eventually fell going for a big shot, taken at square leg.

Khurram Shehzad, feeling that he had nothing to lose attacked Sharma, till Nanda was able to get him going for one shot too many.

#10 batsman Asad Ali was clean bowled by Sangam, looking to drive on the front foot through midwicket.

SNGPL 266 all out, lead of 132 runs.

Delhi started with Sehwag blasting away in typical fashion with drives on the up and lots of aerial shots. However, Imran Ali had him going for one too many, with him bowling a short ball that was taken by Asad Ali at square leg.

After 4 overs, Imran Ali's economy rate was over 8 due to the charge by Sehwag

Kohli came in, and smashed quite a few boundaries with Chopra. Every SNGPL bowler went for plenty, with Kohli taking Adil Raza and Imran Khalid on and took advantage of every bad ball.

Both batsmen also ran well between the innings, and caught SNGPL napping. SNGPL's fielding didn't help, with about 4 balls that should have been stopped for going for even a single, went to the boundary.

All in all, the match is quite balanced, but Delhi have the advantage. They have 9 wickets in hand, and a lead of 110.

Unless Imran Ali has plans to repeat his first-innings heroics, this match is well and truly out of SNGPL's grasp. The ball was spinning quite viciously for Nanda in the first innings, and SNGPL looked quite clueless, and it can only be expected to turn and grip more in the 4th innings.

And play was abandoned on the 4th day, SNGPL win by virtue of having af first-innings lead, and therefore win the Mohammad Nissar Trophy.

Yeah, so SNGPL took the trophy back to Pakistan.

First time a Pakistani team has won this trophy, with the last 2 teams being from India.

Bit of a joke of a rule to have SNGPL win, but at least Nehra and the Delhi batsmen are now in some form for the Irani Trophy.
