Most used shot(??)

I've never managed to hit a short ball for any runs with the 6-hit button and almost always miss the hook and pull without. I also rarely connect with either square cut.
I wouldn't complain too much about missing the hook shot. If I have a rubbish batsman it spoons up for the keeper and with a good batsman 9/10 picks out the fielder on the ropes. The other 1/10 being about 5 yards to the fielders right. :mad

i play the glance of the legs to midwicket as i find that it is the easiest runscoring shot.

I would but like I said it's 50/50 whether I get out lbw playing the sweep accidentally when I use it...

My other post was closed as I was told it should be asked here, even though its a totally different question(!?), so here goes...
How many different shots can be played by advancing down the wicket?

i dont likes to play advance down the track in 2005, just mid on and mid off shots and some shots as the leg glance, u can make lot of runs by playing that shots.

Can't hit yorkers either so I'm pretty much stuck with the cover drive and on drive as my only scoring shots!

HEY Barmyarmy,

Well to play hook, pull, and suare cut, u have too play the ball early if the pace the ball. That is to play the shot as soon as the ball is about to pitch i.e 2 to 3 inces of the ground before pitching. this is tough to expalin but try to play these backfoot shots ealry, and most imporant dont jus tap the W or Backfoot key, jus holding it down till the ball leaves the bat or if u miss the ball.

Jus try it mate and let me kno if it works, Cos it has worked for me

i know of advance block, advance thru covers(which looks really bad), advance slog thru covers (which looks much better), advance straight, advance straight slog (this looked good initially, but some of the patches have made this shot rubbish), advance on drive, advance on drive slog(really useful!), advance leg...uh, drive?(i dont know what this is called, the batsman comes down the ground and smacks it thru midwicket off his legs), advance leg slog (similar, only use when the ball is pitching right in front of your foot). and thats it.

hey, can anyone tell me why some shots (the straight drive and on drive especially) are easy to score with on the PC but almost impossible to use on the PS2? On the PS2 the no matter how well timed i play them it seems the batsman is using a tennis-ball bat......

And on the PC the hook and pull work for me when i play realllllly late, as the ball is rising and almost beside the batsman. Doesnt work with the slog though....and only works when its a bouncer outside off.

whenever I get a ball pitched at the right area, I try and hit it on the onside for a 6 (with an Ondrive). Thats the easiest way to score quick runs

Foward defensive is the one I use the most. My most used run scoring shot would be the back foot straight drive.
