Pranav Dhanawade shattered the record books by becoming the first batsman in the world to score one thousand runs in an organized cricket tournament on Wednesday.

Dhanawade, 15, was playing for Smt KC Gandhi School (Kalyan) against Arya Gurukul in the U-16 HT Bhandari Cup inter-school tournament organized by the Mumbai Cricket Association in Kalyan and was unbeaten overnight on 652, having already broken the record of the highest individual score in an innings; registered by English cricketer AEJ Collin (628*) 117 years ago. Collins scored the unbeaten sextuple hundred for Clark's House against North Town in 1899.

The 15-year-old smashed 129 fours and clobbered 59 sixes in his staggering 323-ball knock played over two days before his team, KC Gandhi School, declared their innings on a staggering 1465 for two.
