Music with Meaning

Yeah sure, I think that site is not that good as you explain, People are more listening to the beats than the words and the meaning of it.

I disagree, i listen to the words before the music.

I listen to both. Words can make a song, however music can do the same also. They're on the same level really in musical terms. Although like many I always respect good lyricy over good music. Since Music is supposed to be an expression of yourself.

Speaking of good musical causes the NME Love Music Hate Racism one is a good one. http://www.nme.com/lovemusichateracism

Aye, that's a fine cause indeed. I take it you got the free CD that NME gave away with that campaign a few weeks ago Animator? Brilliant. I t fills me with so much pride when I see the indie scene doing campaigns like this. That idiot Doherty is part of it as well. ;)

Well i was saying that i listen to the words more than the music, but you cant beat a classy drum solo!

Bass is over-rated in my opinion. I mean, most of the bands i listen to have good bass players, Fall Out Boy have a mediocure one, so i'm not saying Pete Wentz one little bit!

But if you get the join of a drum and a lead guitarist, magic happens.

If used right it can be effective, i know from experience that too much bass kills it, too little makes the song flat.

But as i say, a good leadman with a guitar, and a good drummer is the way to go, luckily i can play both so i know what i'm on about, but i play badly i'd say :p

Bass, lead guitar and drums you need them all. Take bass out of a some songs and you'll notice how crap they sound vice versa for the other two.

But you need a good strong vocalist in there!

Not neccesarilly. You can do a number 1 hit without a bassist. You are unlikely to get there without a singer.

I agree with you a bassist is needed, but his/her importance over the singer is less.
