Music with Meaning

I don't think any of us have actually argued against that fact.

Every successful rock band has a bassist. They are very important to a band.

I'm not sure about this because I don't know the Rumble Strips too well, but I think their lead singer Charlie Waller is actually the bass player for them.

To be lead singer and bassist would be some task, the bassist more often than not, along with the drummer keep the timing.

I normally listen to the music first (play Guitar, noticed that more since I have been playing, 3 years) but with some songs like The Power Of Equality (I will give you a high-five if you know who it is by ;)) I pick up the words because they are power and meaningful.

Also, drums aren't essential to a song. Road Trippin' is a good example of that.

The Power of Equality would be a RHCP song, wouldnt it?

The bass guitarist doesn't have to be good, but it helps. Look how far U2 got without a decent bass player.

The singer is the most prominent member of the band, and it helps the band if he/she/it is good. But you need a few guns outside the singer to be a really good band, as a bunch of solid musicians and a good singer won't get you too far.

It would be. *Gives Simbazz the High 5 that he promised if someone could answer the question*

Look at Red Hot Chili Peppers. They are a great band and have a great bassist (Flea). He is probably one of the most promient bass players I know. Whenever they are on a TV interview it is always him and Anthony. (the singer) Bass is important and the better the bassist the more "full" the band will sound.
