Hi People,

Good to be here after a very long time, not sure how many of you still remember me. Anyway, I have started this thread to showcase the configuration of my new Custom Built Gaming Rig. Here are the Specifications:

Intel Core i7-6700K 4 GHz Processor - The latest 6th Generation one
Gigabyte GA-Z170X-GAMING 5 64GB DDR4 Intel Motherboard
G.skill Ripjaws 4 Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2400MHz (F4-2400C15D-16GRR)
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA Hard Drives (WD1003FZEX)
Asus 24x Sata Internal DVD Writer (DRW-24D3ST)
Cooler Master Octane Gaming Bundle (SGB-3020-KKMF1-US)
Logitech 2.1 Z623 Speaker System - Trust me it's much better than my 5.1 Philips Home Theater
Sapphire Radeon R9 390X 8GB DDR5 TRI-X OC Version (UEFI) ATI Graphic Card - Always preferred AMD over NVidia
Corsair RM Series 1000W 80 Plus Gold Certified Fully Modular Power Supply
Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
Corsair Graphite Series 780T White Full-Tower PC Case (CC-9011059-WW)
ASUS 27INCH LED MONITOR Ultra HD - Almost close to 4K clarity wise
Additional double fan for more cooling

Tested Grand Theft Auto V at extreme settings and works like a charm. No issues, even after 5 hours of gaming this, the CPU was cold :D

Any comments? :D

Didn't go with Blu-Ray?

No SSD?

Seems like odd omissions from a build when you're going so high in other areas.

I hardly use the DVD ROM, I have my Home Theater connected with my Smart TV which supports Blu Ray Discs, that should be enough.

Regarding SSD, My budget was reached big time, had to bend down on something, so decided to go with the Hard Disk.

I would have thought HDD would be the last place I'd not spend money a bit more to get a SSD, even a small one. The PSU is where I would saved the money, a single 390X only really needs 650W
