Need Advice

i just bought this game. I love it but i have 2 major problems:
1. I am playing with Glamorgan now and i am scraping the bottom of the all rankings. I just can't win it seems. So far M.Powell and Davies my Medium pace bowlers ahve delivered. Can anyone suggest good players for me to sign in the off-season Foreign or Non-Foreign?
2. For some reason the CPU is able to score quickly against me in any form of matches. I have tried using very-defensive techniques but with no result. I have to rely on wickets falling to have any chance to winning a match. I am never economical in any match. Any help there as well?

1) What I use to judge players is see the wages. A wage over 30,000 suggests a decent player. Sign youths, and go for young, trainable players more.
2) In FC games, set the bowling bar to full, and the field to the 2nd attaking one (with the first being very attacking). Should get youearly wickets. If nothing falls after your two opening bowlers' first spells, set the field back a bit and change. Ind OD games, leave the aggression at 3, keep the third field (the default one) for the first 14 overs. Then set it back a level (To the second-most defensive field). Rotate bowlers in short spells, have your best bowl in the last.
