Why did we select 7 bowlers?
I normally select all of my bowlers who can bowl to bowl in my practice matches, because it lets you test out all of your options. That definitely wasn't the reason you lost, you should be looking at your batsmen.
The ratings definitely appear to be slightly in the bowlers' favour, although I don't think that that's necessary a bad thing, considering that this is New Zealand which has traditionally helped bowlers more than most countries around the world. I could just counter that by having more excellent pitches, which tend to yielding scores in the 250 - 300 range.

Those two lower-order partnerships Woodcock was involved in helped us put those extra runs on the board to give the bowlers something to play with.Dilshan looked good after starting cautiously but it was a bowlers' show all the way.
Everyone chipped in but Woodcock was the best of the lot.
Good to see Harry Boam doing well too.

the batting was a dissapointment, the bowlers did well to take the game to the last over but their batsmen looked in control throughout the game.

Always good to see the captain leading from the front. The two Martins bowled really well to restrict them to a gettable total. Williamson, Cachopa and du Plessis batted beautifully to take us home. Looking forward to our next game where we'll go with our full strength.

Magnificent spell by Binga, and that should be enough to get him a place in the team. His five for and support from other bowlers restricted them to a gettable target, only for the batsmen to blow it up. The players expected to be regulars for us played horrible.

If Ashwin and Starc could have held their nerve, we might have won there. Anyway, good to see our bowlers performing so well but that was only our's and Wellington's second XI.
