If you have a scanner and scan your reciept and send that to Codemasters that will prove your game is real, or if you have a digital camera take a picture of it.

?19 you paid for it? Im sure its cheaper new now.

Ok dudes, they already sent me a cd key, i typed it and it then checks the disk. It sticks on the same bit for ages and doesn't move.

i think if you have a legit cd codemasters will give you a serial because they have that much faith in the cd protection

Thats absolutely bullcrap! I saw duplicate copies of the game in Delhi for less than 200 Rs (2.5 GBP) and know what? they all work. Piracy has gone up by leaps and bounds that too in countries like India where these games cost 1500 bucks.

And I had to shell out 999 for my C2005. Know what I am called - Loser!

Who is saying you were after pirated copies. i was merely stating that piracy has very strong roots in my country. No offense to you and all others who buy the originals. Needless to say that includes me.

You've gotta have patience - don't waste your money on buying another copy, Codemasters will probably send you a key within the next couple of days.

Their is a way on the registry editor to find the code although I don't know as this works before you enter the key.......

(BE WARNED DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON THE REGISTRY EDIT AS IT MAY MESS UP YOUR COMPUTER)

1. Go to run
2. Type in regedit and press enter
3. In the Registry Editor go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER
4. Go to Software -> Codemaster -> Cricket 2005 -> Keys
5. Copy down the value of DiscKey_CRICKET putting a hypon, (-), every 5 letters/numbers.

As I say it may not work as you haven't yet entered the disc key but it is handy for everyone who has lost theirs.

I'd say its only useful if you've already entered your code but lost the piece of paper. There is no way they would go to the effort of putting a security measure like that in place and then put the required code unencripted in the registry, its got to be what you've already entered.
