Why hottest prospect ever seen in the world of cricket, the great :arwk: Kim Jong-un is not part of the National team... And why P'aeng Jong-Su announced as a captain of national team? You don't know, great Kim Jong-un is forever captain of North Korean team...

He is still in his diapers in 1999. He is indeed a rockstar of our nation, but expecting that much from him at this age is a little too much, even for DPRK.

The incredible story of P'yong Kang-Dae

NYNK405.jpg

The scintillating Player of the Match in the recently concluded One Day international between North Korea and England, :wkb: P'yong Kang-Dae, might have just ended up being the most unique shoe crafter North Korea had ever seen. However, the fate had something else in mind as his life took a complete 180 degrees turn when his unorthodox technique of sewing the sole of a shoe highly impressed a DKCC scout, who was just on a vacation visit to the shoe factory P'yong worked for. It was this eureka moment when the scout invited P'yong in to an emerging cricketers camp happening in Pyongyang which aimed at identifying and getting freshly brewed cricketers on to the radar and groom them for the next level.

It is said that Kang-Dae's parents met at a social gathering in Pyongyang and hence named him P'yong during his birth. Kang-Dae established himself as a quick learner and a keen observer of the game. His leather carving artistry helped him immensely as he began keeping wickets for his side. It was only time that the national selectors identified his craftsmanship and called him up for national trails.

Kang-Dae debuted for the national side in 1994 and by 1996 he become a regular face in the Korean team. In the same year, he became the preferred Wicket Keeper in the side after :wk: Kento-chan Kim bid adieu to cricket.
"나는 그에게 신발을 요청했지만 주님은 나에게 장갑을 선물"
"I asked him for shoes, but the Lord gave me gloves"
- Kang Dae, 1995, during his interview to Kik TV
