Notice Regarding Logos.

From now on, you can't edit logos you find via google search, just edit the text and make them your own.

I myself did about 15 logos (though mentioning they were edited logos) like that. But, I have seen other people also do the same and don't even bother to mention that they are edited. I guess it's not your work if you do so. Therfore, I've deleted all of those 15 logos from web. I am planning not to make logos like that in the near future.

You can still edit logos for someone, i.e only if you don't release them in your thread and send them via PMs/VMs.

So, if anyone finds a logo being edited he can PM me the link to that post. I'll further take up the matter to the Admins.

Also if we're running a league, can we ourselves edit logos and use them?

You can edit logos (for leagues or whatever) as long as you don't post them in your Graphics Thread.

Well, as long as you use images, it's okay. It's a recent development in the people that they're using already made logos and changing the text or stuff in them. But they need to lose this habit.

But As long as you have the permission to use the images, rather, from the web, you're safe. They're no different from what you usually deal with, in your signatures or works, called renders or cricket photos.

I don't think this topic needs a thread, just use the "report" button and write your views and let the staff deal it.

Nowhere I mentioned you couldn't use images from web. The only thing I mentioned was the fact to stop claiming edited logos as your own. It's time.

It does need a thread IMO. Things were getting worse. Heopefully they'll improve now.

No, you didn't, and don't need to mention everything. I did.

I think there are few people who go on to edit the made logos, of course, most of them make their own logos. But this manner would stop, there wouldn't be much need for any serious action. () I appreciate you took up the issue, but better use the report button in further cases.

As long as you mention that it is edited from some other logo I don't see an issue with posting a modified version of a logo, nor do I see a need to send that sort of stuff through PMs.

As far as copyright is concerned there is no difference from using a photo you didn't take to a logo you didn't make. Most of the editing in this forum comes from fair use, it doesn't really matter whether the logo someone makes for a story (or whatever) is entirely original or not as long as they aren't used for commercial purposes (which I'd strongly doubt any of you are).

The first post doesn't represent a PC rule. I'd prefer people always mentioned the sources of anything got from a website other than PC, but it isn't required.

If people did not wanted their work to be used by anyone then they will make it private. Its not as if you guys are taking photos of cricketers yourself and then making sign and wallpapers around that.
