Hey all, this is my very first story.
I hope you enjoy it, but please leave any comments and criticism you may have. Thanks :)

The Nottinghamshire Outlaws are looking to start this brand new season with a win, but they face a strong Yorkshire side in the Liverpool Victoira Championship.

The selectors have not taken any gambles in the squad, and stuck to their guns.
They did, however, colaborate on the decision of appointing Fleming as captain. Many of the selectors believed Chris Read was the appropriate choice, but it is heard the board overturned this decision.

The star that many believe is likely to shine this year is David Hussey, Michael Hussey's Brother and their overseas player. With a very strong middle order, the Outlaws look to punish Yorkshire in the middle overs.

Sidebottom will be looking to keep it tight, pilling the pressure on, and Graeme Swann will hopefully finish the job. But there are unsung heroes of the Outlaws, such as Andy Harris, who could knock over any first class batsman on his day.

The XI to play Yorkshire:

Day 1
1st Session

On a lovely, sunny day in Nottinghamshire, there appears to be a lovely batting track. However, the Yorkshire captain , Darren Gough, believes otherwise as he elects to bowl when he succesfully wins the toss.

John Gallian decided to take first ball, and was struck square in the stomach.
From sitting in the crowd, a cry could be heard, coming from poor John. Kruis paid no attention this, and appeared to look to bounce him out of the game.

The shabby looking Jason Gillespie and Kruise looked for an early breakthrough, as many shouts for LBW were turned down.

However, D. Kruise in just the 5th over of the game finds the wooden stumps, as Bicknell loses his mind, and swings at a straight'un, departing for just 13. One elderly spectator can be heard cursing him, as he walks back where he came from, and out comes the captain Steven Fleming, who has a job to do.

Fleming survives the over, but Gallion does not survive the next. DISASTER!
After driving a perfect cover drive for four, Gallion tries the same thing again but loses his off stump. The crowd see him off with a light ripple,to a lousy 16.
Shaggy has picked up his first wicket.
Notts in terrible trouble now.
29-2 off just 6 overs!

bowledkp3.jpg

In comes Smith, who really needs to knuckle down along with captain Fleming.

Just 3 balls later, and Fleming is dropped! Poor old Shaggy lets one slip! A big let off, but Fleming is certainly not looking confortable.

On comes the spinner Lawson, and a tight maden over niggles the mind of Hussey, who launches himself into a sweep, only to miss it, and get struck on the pad, and given LBW. Notts are crumbling under pressure; 35-3 after 10. The elderly supporter seems to have lost the will to live...

On the left is the LBW decision, and on the right is a local artist impression of Lawson celebrating the wicket of Hussy, looking very happy, and having a boogy on the pitch!

Simply Awful... 39-4 13 Overs
Fleming grinds out 25 balls to make just 3, then lazily attempts to drive a full pitched delivery, finding the edge, and flying into slip's hands.
Unluckily for Steve, it was not Gillespie attempting the catch.
This is turning out to be a dismal display from Notts, and this caps things off.

A passionate hug is caught on camera between the bowler and short leg, will their wives be happy?

I have to leave it here for tonight, as I need to get some sleep!
Comments would be appreciated :D

Reall really good work, and you deserve the reps i'm giving to you.

Notts need to ease up on the gas and get a patnership going.

Great start mate!
Nottinghamshire in all sorts of bother though:(

Thank you everyone for your kind words :)
But its not getting any better for poor Notts.
Ealham gets off the mark with a beautiful cover drive, but next ball he follows the 4 other batsmen, as his offstump is dislodged attempting a straight drive. Lovely bowling from Yorkshire, but Notts are really throwing their wickets away here. In comes Chris Read, who has a mammoth task to face up to now, and may still be dissapointed by not being handed the captaincy.

45-5, and the Outlaws have nearly handed the game to Yorkshire.

Read holds out the over.
BUT, it could not get any worse for Notts as Lawson picks up his second wicket, this time through Smith. Facing 14 balls, for just 1, his eyes lit up when Lawson chucked a full bunger outside off stump, only to be edged straight into the keepers hands. Yorkshire are ecstatic, Nottinghamsire look like they are about to cry, and we have now reached the tail; Graeme Swann walks in.

Will Notts even survive up to lunch?!

The 50 mark is finally reached when Chris Read flicks a lovely leg glance, and they run 4!

scoreex6.jpg

Read is starting to look strong as he flicks yet another four off his legs. Swann has made a well battled 10, of dozens of balls, and Read has chipped in with 17, all of those runs through leg side! But just as Notts were starting to rebuild, yet another stupid decision made by a Notts player, this time its Swann. Trying to hit the leather off the ball, he is stuck on the pads. A strangled appeal from Shaggy gets thorugh to the umpire, who makes a very dubious decision. With only minutes from lunch, Swann must feel bemused.
This is turning out to be a joke for poor Nottinghamshire, but will Ready put up any resistance for the Outlaws?
78-7 off 22.
lbwnp0.jpg

Painful for the Notts supporters
'Read has moved into the twenties and is starting to look very confortable'- Richie Benaud.
One ball later and Read chips a short delivery into short legs hands.
A very sensible knock has come to an end, but any supporter of Notts will be crying now!
An arrogant Yorkshire fan can be heard playing the song, 'Another one bites the dust'. This sparks verbal confrontations between the sets of fans. More worringly for Yorkshire fans, on the pitch there is more gay antics from the Yorkshire players...

readddyyyde8.jpg

Another wicket falls and Yorkshire are mopping up the tail here. However, it is another suspicious LBW decision. Poor old Harris got a big stride on, got hit on the pad, and was triggered. Unplayable.

lbw56zx3.jpg

Steven Fleming was overheard on the Notts balcony, saying 'Has this umpire had money put in his bat pocket?!' A very stupid comment to make, and the ECB could investigate the matter.

And the end of the innings has come... Sidebottom edging to slip. The last two did put on a little cameo, swinging at everything, but Kruis yet again makes them pay.
Innings.jpg

An appaling innings from Nottinghamshire. They need to bowl to perfection, and then mount a big, 2nd innings score to even be in contention in this match.

Scorecards Below:

I hope you enjoyed reading their first innings catastrophe!

Haha, I know man
ive just been playing on Tutsis patch recently, and my, it makes the game so much harder!
Maybe I should be playing on 3* on tutsis, but a challenge is a challenge!

Exactly :)

Here I have two little activites for everyone to take part in :) They both come from the 1st Innings of Yorkshire.

Both winners either have the choice of reps, or a request for a bat!

What Happens Next?

untitled1ox6.jpg

You have three options for this...
1) The Keeper dives to his right and takes the catch
2) The Ball flies past keeper and slips
3) The keeper misses it but the slip takes it

Where is the ball?

Guess where the ball is!
ballguessei5.jpg

The colour dot next to each ball indicates which ball you are guessing.
E.g, saying green will mean you are guessing the ball is the one hitting his stomach.

Once three people have made guesses, I will release the result :)
Have played until the end of the first day with Notts, and they have revived a little bit :)
