Complete heartbreak for Namibia as they get knocked out at the last possible moment.

In other news Shi Gen takes his rightful place at the top of the ODI Bowling rankings following his rather successful Asia Cup campaign.

What are the WC qualification rules??
Top 20 in ODI rankings makes the World Cup, you qualified in the 19th slot.

Assuming 4 groups of 5 and everyone at their correct rank will be participating

ABCD
Canada (1)South Africa (2)Denmark (3)China (4)
India (5)Pakistan (6)Qatar (7)Russia (8)
Saudi Arabia (9)Morocco (10)Guernsey (11)Nieu (12)
England (13)Bermuda (14)USA (15)New Zealand (16)
Vanuatu (17)Norway (18)Wales (19)Israel (20)

Since it is supposed to be 47 matches, I'm guessing 2 will qualify from each group followed by knockouts.

And now making a little educated guess:
QF1: India (A1) vs China (D2)
QF2: Canada (A2) vs Nieu (D1)
QF3: South Africa (B1) vs Denmark (C2)
QF4: Morocco (B2) vs Guernsey (C1)

SF1: India (QF1) vs Guernsey (QF4)
SF2: Canada (QF2) vs South Africa (QF3)

Final: India (SF1) vs South Africa (SF2)
Winner: India

congrats everyone. i leaked the script beforehand.

happy our dead federation has not cost the country a wc spot

ABCD
Canada (1)South Africa (2)Denmark (3)China (4)
India (5)Pakistan (6)Qatar (7)Russia (8)
Saudi Arabia (9)Morocco (10)Guernsey (11)Nieu (12)
England (13)Bermuda (14)USA (15)New Zealand (16)
Vanuatu (17)Norway (18)Wales (19)Israel (20)
group A is much higher quality than D in that case. makes more sense to go with a snake order

Surely snake is the stock option for this. I say this despite it mathematically making it harder for me.

The other option is random draw within pots.

I’d do a random draw, much more fun that way.
I agree

Kinda right, kinda wrong. Niue and New Zealand get seeds 1 and 2 as the host nation, and then the rest follow according to their ODI rankings.

Niue are given seed 1, and New Zealand are given seed 2 since the former is ranked higher than the latter in the ODI rankings.

So,

Group A
Group B
Group C
Group D
01 Niue (12)02 New Zealand (16)03 Canada (1)04 South Africa (2)
05 Denmark (3)06 China (4)07 India (5)08 Pakistan (6)
09 Qatar (7)10 Russia (8)11 Saudi Arabia (9)12 Morocco (10)
13 Guernsey (11)14 England (13)15 Bermuda (14)16 USA (15)
17 Vanuatu (17)18 Norway (18)19 Wales (19)20 Israel (20)

Also, very wrong with the knockout seeds there. It's going to be:-

A1 vs D2
B1 vs C2
C1 vs B2
D1 vs A2

QF1 vs QF2
QF3 vs QF4

SF1 vs SF2

That's how the seeds/groupings have worked in every international WCC limited-overs tournament in the season.

2000, 2002 KOT and 2002 CWG.

Group A is the Group of Death. Any of those five teams can finish Top 2 on any given run of the tournament.

Group B is very interesting. New Zealand, China and England are all capable of finishing Top 2 whilst Russia and Norway both have the potential to cause some upsets.

Group C seems a lot more simple, Canada and India should be favourites to go through however Bermuda and Saudi Arabia both have the potential to shock the world and make it out of the Group. Wales I’m less confident in but they could shock some people.

Group D in my opinion is the weakest group. The Saffas will easily top the group but who finishes second is where things will be interesting as Pakistan and Morocco are in my opinion even in terms of quality. USA and Israel are in a lot of trouble but they could surprise people.
