Actually the quality of Pakistani umpires in our domestic circuits is quite poor. But I agree, Aleem Dar is better than some others.

I agree that Aleem Dar is a world class umpire, but that can't really be said about some other Pakistani umpires I've seen officiating over the years.

worst umpires are Pakistanis ? Aleem Dar is good umpire, Asad Rauf is good umpire, or they wont get to umpire in big matches like ashes and stuff..
i think indian umpires are one of the worse, giving their own batsman out and even indian third umpire making wrong decisions consistently if i remember correctly. Thats why there are none in the "Elite Panel"

Also Darrel Hair, something needs to be done with him

What exactly do you mean by "giving their own batsman out". As far as I understand, umpires are not expected to judge a player on the basis "ours" and "theirs", something which unfortunately Pakistani umpires have been guilty of in the past.

that was the past..long time ago when Pakistani umpires were terrible.
But theyre not here anymore, so u saying that pcb is opposing this rule because Pakistani umpires arent good doesnt make sense.

yea but this is for international level..in that we just have 2 of them, who are very decent.

personally i think that its a positive step towards the future of cricket at high levels. Come 20 years, do you think they will be relying on a someguy in white when they can be 100% sure of what actually happened using super slo-mo, snicko, hawk-eye etc.

Its a decision like this which seperates the ICC from FIFA, FIFA from the get go have not made any rule changes that would indicate they are looking towards a technological future, for gods sake, they still have a guy with a stop watch telling you when the game is finished, and hes doing this while still refereeing the game!

Reason I oppose it is that I've seen it implemented in American football and its a ridiculous waste of time and makes a mockery of the game IMO.
