Pakistan Revolving Door Thread (now with more Jabba)

Good for Pakistan coz they couldn't have handled him and given him the kind of freedom he needs to work with the team.

No offense to Pakistan but who in their right mind would want to go and live there (being a foreinger) after people tried to kill the last team that toured. You'd have to pay them millions to take the risk

Agree with that! Only a Pakistan coach would be better to handle the team.

Pakistan are just a rabble. Always have been, even at their 'best', whenever that was. One year they are good-like in 1992, later that year they are getting their ass kicked in the same country they won the WC only months earlier. The only man for the job- even though he would never take it- is Imran Khan. Maybe a more modern player like Wasim Akram. realistically there is just no outsider who can get them to consistently play to the level required to be a dominant force in the cricket world, except in 20/20 I guess, which is a joke. They always seem to rely on freak performances to win games and rarely play as a team, as soon as they lose a match all these ridiculous comments come out in the press, its hilarious. When Imran was captain he ran the show, the buck stopped with him and he was hugely respected. Intikhab is miles past his use by date, i'm afraid he's too old and out of touch. Pakistan need to welcome the 2000's, and then welcome the current decade, they are so behind.

They need to get someone who will be strict and bring some more discipline to the team. Chappel might have worked too. Shame he didn't take the job. What about Inzi and Moin Khan? They were the coaches of the Badshah's and that team had really great chemistry, and I've never seen both the Imran's play better. They seemed to have that team play as an actual team, and the younger players often stepped. Plus both will have the respect of all the players before hand. Moin Khan could also considerably help Akmal, while Inzy would provide beneficial tips how to close matches, as he was very good at that role.

The trouble with that idea is that Moin and particularly Inzy have friends in the team. It's hard to be strict and maintain discipline when you are coaching your friends. That's a reason Stephen Fleming was not in the mix for the NZ coaching job. He had too many mates in the team.

So that narrows down your options a bit. You want someone who retired before the current crop of players, but isn't too old eg. Intikhab. As Robelinda said, Imran would be the dream choice. Otherwise you are left with guys from that era: Javed, Abdul Qadir, Wasim Bari, Ramiz Raja if you are looking for ex-players who were leaders. But even the always eager Javed turned down the job recently so it's going to take a LOT of convincing to get someone coaching.

I think at the moment Waqar Younis might be a good selection. He is well respected, is a good analyser of the game, know the weak areas. I just hope that he does not have favouritism... otherwise he will be a good option

Get Miadad back I love him as Coach him and Inzamam really made sure this team didn't go down the tubes like it is going down right now.

Waqar Younis has been talked about as possibly joining the Australian coaching team, he apparently sees huge potential in guys like Johnson, Bollinger Hilfenhaus etc.

Also there is an article from last week where Waqar says he definitely does NOT want the coaching role in Pakistan and that there were some hidden reasons behind the awful performance in Australia.

He seems very upset by a few things that happened behind closed doors.

That would be so great, seeing as we've struggled to swing the ball recently.

A move like this could restore us to No.1 Pree exciting news.

What he liked was our ability to use reverse swing. We actually used it better than Pakistan during the series and Pakistan are the kings of reverse swing. A guy like Mitchell Johnson would really prosper.

Why was the topic of this thread changed?

It was supposed to be about the PCB's suspicions converning Pakistan's poor tour.

Had nothing to do with axings nor appointments.

:facepalm

I guess the mods just figured to make one super thread seeing as if people made a new thread each time Pakistan hired/fired a coach, the server would crash
