Sedition has a very good point and even i have been confused on this for quite sometime...but as far as i hav understood...Razzaq dint play the fourth ODI and then it was announced that he's injured and will not take further part in the tour...so replacing him before 5th ODI is acceptable.

I am not saying this because i did it...but this is my understanding from the substitution policy used in the last few series...correct me if i am wrong

Yeah I understand where you're coming from and don't blame you for making that replacement. At least you got in before the 5th ODI and took a chance, not sitting back waiting to see how your replacement faired first.


Just to quote the rule again for convenience, bolded by me, written by Zexy himself and posted by Aussie1st

[*]If a batsman is injured during the series he can be replaced by a reserve batsman. If the Fantasy Cricket player wants to replace him with Reserve Batsman 1 he should tell it in the thread. The deadline for posting the replacement for the injured batsman is set when the next match starts, where the replacement plays. If the Fantasy Cricket player hasn?t indicated that he wants his injured player to be replaced with Reserve Batsman 1, the injured player remains in his team. If the injured player has underneath a minimum of -30 points (the maximum of a batsman's duck) he can't be replaced. If he has above -30 points he can be replaced.

If that rule is not designed specifically to stop people from sitting back and seeing how their reserve performs before deciding to replace him, then I'm not here. If I'm not mistaken, the only person eligible to replace Razzaq at this point would be Aussiebushrange, who's reserve Kulasekara has not played.

The problem here was the late picking up of the injury. Cricinfo only reported the injury on the 22nd i.e. after the 4th ODI. So in that regard the deadline should have been the start of the 5th ODI. The deadline however shouldn't have been the T20 match. I don't believe Zexy was sitting back and waiting, just he wasn't online for the 4th and 5th ODI and only just saw the injury where he assumed it was done during the 5th ODI. All changes made after the 5th ODI have been reversed.

Also the rules were missing the part where you can only make injury replacement for the first half of the series so the last match where injury replacements could have been made for this series was between the end of the 3rd ODI and start of the 4th. However since this wasn't in place that will be let to slide for this series.

Thanks for clearing that up I think the change before the 5th ODI is fair given the late injury report and not being specifically covered in the rules.

May I get jaywardane to be replaced with Misbah? as he is ruled out of the only t20. Both of them got almost similar amount of points.

I went away a couple of days and you guys have been making a mess of this.

I thought you guys would be happy of having a deadline to replace some injured players.

I also see someone has included again Razzaq in my team.

It became a mess because people wanted to sub players out after 5 games in a 6 game series and collect the points their reserves accumulated instead. I believe it's been rectified and the rules are clearer now.
