patch with sold out edition - is that the reason why patch dont work?

Hi everyone,
I had post previously on my problem with inability to run the patch eventhough i have the orginal CD.
I was browsing through cricketgames.com and found that patch doesnt work with sold out edition.
Is that true?
I have that edition and did not know this before.
Is there any way out?

Maybe yes. I think mine is a sold out edition, and the patch isn't working with it on a full install. It didn't even carried the manual .

yeah .........the official patch updates feild restrictions and wides bug.............which is changed with the EXE file of the game..........so u need a original Cd to make it work.......got it

You had the same comments on my earlier post. I dont get your "original" thing/ what do you mean by that. I have the original sold out edition bought from sports-gifting.com. so it is original but still patch is not working.
I will appreciate if you can come up with further explanation on what it will not work with sold-out edition.

The wides do work, but the FILTERED option doesn't come in the Settings menu.

Someone will have to develop a crack for the patch.
