Well voting is over, the counting has been completed and now the first three categories can be announced per our policy unnecessarily creating suspense during the awards.
The first category is the one that had the least amount of votes, for the Best Your Cricket Diary. Despite this, most of those who did vote went the same way,
KP's 2008 Season Diary (42.7%)
Zorax's Tennis Ball Cricketing Exploits/Bowling Practice Diary Like Thread Thingy (22.7%)
Maney2k9's Season Diary (17.3%)
Jakes 2009/10 cricket season log (17.3%)
And the winner is the newly renamed King Broad (seriously, when did that happen?). Zorax came in a proud second, and there was a tie for third that will make no difference overall.
For winning King Broad gets a prize from our pool of yet-to-be-announced prizes.
The next award was for the user who has had the Best Avatar (the pictures below your name for those who weren't sure) and in a closeish category,
chetan0304 (23.2%)
whitehornmatt (20.0%)
barmyarmy (14.7%)
And well done to Chetan who wins it with his acrostic skills over my ability to crop something off the Simpsons down to avatar size and Colin's ability to keep the same thing for 10 years.
For winning Chetan gets a prize from our aforementioned pool of yet-to-be-announced prizes.
To finish of today's announcements it is the award for Best Game. We decided against letting Ashes Cricket 09 go in this year's awards, as it was only just released as voting started.
EA Cricket07 (43.1%)
International Cricket Captain 2009 (27.6%)
Brian Lara Cricket 99 (12.9%)
And for the third time running, Cricket 07 wins. EA's testament to the ability to change a number on a game and have everyone buy it has defeated nostalgia and a different genre of cricket game to take out the award. Why? Why do people keep voting for it? It isn't a good game by any measure. Not only did people vote for it, it was one of the few categories where None didn't win. What is wrong with you all!

Though of course we could just give all the credit to AbBh for making it playable. Probably more to do with being able to edit the game making it better (are you listening Codemasters?).
Anyway, when I've stopped ranting about Cricket 07, the next awards will be posted. Well done to all our winners today. You can discuss this all in our http://www.planetcricket.org/forums/general-chat/pc-awards-2009-discussion-thread-57483.html
