They've been the runners-up four times though.
Just saw the archives and observed that the only time an NZPL team hadn't made the CL final was during CL6 (when I won ), but they are yet to win one! This is the sixth edition of the CL and the fifth time an NZPL team has made the final. So, God show mercy on them to fittingly register their maiden title. :/

266 is a big score on a normal pitch. Senanayake was once again economical while Vettori chipped in with crucial wickets to never really let the rivals post a huge score.
Its very much a gettable score and with the line-up we have I reckon we might get there. The top 4 batsmen's performance will be the key. Gauti has a fantastic ODI average, hope he clicks too in the absence of Punter.
In all whosoever wins, it will be great pleasure to be in the final but still want SLPL team to open their account as Champions League winners.

First things first, and I really feel that's a winning total. Onus on my bowlers now to maintain that feeling. What an inspirational move was that to move Bazza up the order to open with Trott?! Paved the path for Sachin and Mathews to lead the charge to amassing that total on board. Job half done I would say, because i really feared their bowling attack more than their batters.
