Rob

Well played rob, youre bowling is much better.:hpraise

well played Jararrow, I was pretty happy with my bowling ,particularly my spinners, I even tried to bat sensibly but still lost wickets at an alarming rate!

Yeah I think I've played them before but they are too good as well. Is anyone out there my standard :( It's just that playing a totally one sided game is no fun for anyone involved

Yaaaaawn ...... now that its very early i the morning I shall recommend you 2 players with whom you can have some fun

Dutchad & King Cricket

BTW, I don't remember playing you Ricco, at least not on BETA 2.

Hey kabooka, (or anyone who likes to give me a small (not too small) review)

I was wondering if you woundnt mind giving me your thoughts on bet2 online play. People have talked about it here and there but i want to know from someone who has played a bit online. i am on xbox so didnt get a chance to play beta 2....can you tell me about batting, and bowling. about the lag etc. also about the spinners, are they effective now? would you take spinners in your team now? are the three yellow spots good to have?....please try explain as much as you comfortably can....thank you for putting aside time for me if you do review and its ok if you can i will understand.

may be because of my USA eastern timings?

there are only around 100 online users on beta2
i waited like 2hours today to play a match....then in the middle of the game lost the connection
in order to make this game a success probably people are working harder than transmission or codemasters themselves :D

Hi Ali,

As explained by many people after the beta patch the whole gameplay changes. Apart from the fact that now stats are saved in the dropped matches and quitters loose out on star rating another improvement is that the lag is much lesser now. Comming to gameplay , if a bowler can mix up his deliveries i.e. bowl slower deliveries and inswinging yorkers he can have the batsmen in a corner. It is just like before the patch bowling a offcutter outside offstump was. You need a lot of practice to judge the slower balls. Also by default the the bowling marker doesnt startup in a sweet spot, instead its placed in the middle of the pitch and you have comparitively very little time tp get it to where you want to pitch it. Also the bowling cursor moves very slowly and hence those people (like me:doh) who move their cursors to confuse the batsmen dont have that luxury now. It should also be noted that the batsmen also has much lesser time to react and place their shots. So if you have a competent bowler at hand , batting could be much more difficult. Also the Batsman's confidence meter plays an important role. If a Batsman is fearless and he plays a lofted shot which is risky and does not time it well, the shot will stay grounded, similarly it is very easy to bowl out tail enders who are timid in confidence meters by just bowling em yorkers. very real if you ask me. Unlike prepatched version the Fast medium and Medium fast bowlers are now equally and sometimes more deadly than fast bowlers now, thnx to slower balls. Also the timing meter for all types of pacers is now the same. Alas the spinners are still very easy to put away, unless you are playing in conditions totally favoring them , i.e. you provide them an older ball (possible only in games longer than 20 overs), a slow pitch like Kolkata on say Day 4 or 5 with afternoon or night time. Also the offline gameplay has been improved tremendously and on a Hard setting much more realistic matches take place unlike the carnage that was before. Hopefully the mini review will be useful to you.

Thanks Kabooka, very much appreciated. Just gives you an idea of what to expect. I guess now just sit back and wait for the patch to come soon. Once again thanks for the effort.
