To even be considered for a "best something" award, you should really of actually played the major format of the game being tests, hence eliminating Afridi before the voting...

Plus Watson's superior ODI record should put him ahead of Vettori. Averaging 11 more with 1100 runs more and with 21 wickets more, averaging 1.5 less. Vettori has played 21 less games however.

I'd take Watson for the year though

That's your point of view and I respect that but I enjoyed the IPL.
The team I was supporting reached the finals, the player I was supporting got the most runs and the man of the series, every match was good for me atleast.
