Cup Final

Old Wulfs call heads..... heads it is!

Old Wulfs v BFN Bombers @ The Castlecroft Ground

A Battrick rivalry spanning many seasons and connotations of the PlanetCricket competitions now takes the heat up a notch as these two teams now meet in the finals of this years' cup. A quick look at the fixture history reveals that this game will probably hurt the Bombers, in fact, the last time they beat the Wulfs was way back on the 01/04/2007! Curiously in their own back yard, but since then manager Freddie Fan made amends having not lost a game against the Bombers since then, leaving the score at a very painful 14 - 1 in the favour of the Wulfs. Sources suggest that those are the odds the bookies are offering for a Bombers win.... Expected to carry the Wulfs to victory are super all-rounder Mark Ludlam and batsman George Earle, trying to counteract these players the Bombers will be relying on club legend Eddie Samuel and upstart Darren Surmon.

Plate Final

Penguins call tails..... heads it is!

Baggy Blues v St. Johns Penguins CC @ BB Colloseum of Pain

The Penguins overcame some tough opposition in the form of the HuntingTigers to get here, whilst the Baggy Blues had to beat new-comers Tassie Titans to book their spot in the finals. Will the Penguins be able to produce a repeat performance, or will the Blues prove to be too tough to overcome? I'm not to sure if the Blues ever played against Aura/Sinhala Ranaweera but we do know that the Penguins currently stand 2 - 0 up against the Blues. To make the task even harder for the Baggy Blues they have to contest a play-off game on Friday before they can concentrate their efforts on the final. The Penguins will be relying on batsman Theo Spiller to get their runs as well as all-rounder Rajagopal Suren. Whilst the Blues will be looking to spin sensation Glen Sawyer and well known batsman Danny Chavhanga.

Just a reminder that the home team that must make the challenge, if they have not made it by Thursday, we ask that the away team make the challenge, there will be no postponement of games, if one team fails to make a challenge or arranges another friendly, they will forfeit the game. Please note that you have signed up for a championship which will run for 3 weeks minimum and upto 7 weeks for those reaching the final stages.

Challenges can be made anytime before that game, bar international one's which cannot be made on Sunday's or Monday's. Myself and WC will check the fixtures on Thursday to ensure that the game's are in place - but please do not hesitate to post if you have not challenged someone - if they are not, we will be in contact with the home team manager to try to correct this, but please on Thursday the away team should challenge there opponent in any case.
