Planetcricket Battrick League Final Thread

should be an exciting match!

Do you want to do updates Briggs? Ive got to go for a bit

26.6 W Rowson to Lister
Thick edge from Lister and the ball travelled very quickly to Iftikhar at slip. He manages to parry it up and Henman is alert and dives full stretch to take the catch.
Another one down, Lister gone 6 short of 50 and now we can kick on!

No problem, ive got them both on multiview anyway so ill notice if anything happens.

50 Partnership up between Heggett and Swift, looking to rebuild

28.5 1 Cummings to Heggett
Drops it down on the leg side and they steal a quick single. Clever cricket.

End of Over 33: 166-4, runrate=5.03
Cummings 10-0-40-1
Heggett* 42 (54 balls)
Swift 88 (98 balls)
Cummings finishes his 10 over spell, nice and economical. Heggett is taking up a lot of strike. Swift has only faced 3 of the last 12 deliveries.

33.1 W Leighton to Heggett
Full ball and the attempted hoick over long on is taken on the ropes. Good catch by Scholes.
Hegget has gone for a well made 42, 166-5, but Cole has come in and hit 4 from his second delivery.

34.5 . Hoult to Swift
Edged..... and inches short of the slip cordon. A bit of banter going on there. Hoult seems to be exchanging a few heated words with Swift. Swift simply shrugs and smiles at him before re-taking his guard.
Lucky escape for Swift on 88!

35.2 6 Leighton to Swift
Straight hit and it actually lands on the rope! After a short delay, the third umpire correctly indicates six runs.
He liked that though, takes him on to 95!

End of Over 40: 201-5, runrate=5.03
Leighton 10-0-58-2
Cole* 20 (22 balls)
Swift 98 (117 balls)
40 overs gone, Swift yet to reach his century, Cole looking aggressive and taking a lot of strike. Swift possibly tired at this point, but a great effort none the less. The big 10 are up next!

40.4 1 Scholes to Swift
Pitched on the legs, Swift flicks in the air to the long leg region, single taken.
And that's a century for Swift! Well played indeed Sir!
There it is, 119 ball century for Swift!

Great updates. Thanks Guys. Keep 'em coming for the all important final 10.

44.2 6 Scholes to Fieldhouse
Fieldhouse advances down the pitch and smashes Scholes for six. The bowler is not happy, if looks could kill, Fieldhouse would be dead right now.
44.1 W Scholes to Swift
Driven straight to Leighton at mid on. There's never a run there, what on earth are they doing?
Swift gone, but Fieldhouse goes big first ball!

Half way through the big last 10

End of Over 45: 237-6, runrate=5.27
Scholes 8-0-52-2
Fieldhouse* 8 (4 balls)
Cole 34 (36 balls)

Last Wicket: Swift Run Out 112 (FOW: 228/6)

Wahey! (my match)
45.6 W Oneil to Rafiullah
Rafiullah didn't even pick that ball up. Oneil has bowled that one up at 100 mph with a vicious in-swing that has taken leg stump on its travels. Oneil is most definitely in town!

End Of Innings

Battrick League 3rd/4th Play-Off

The Falcons 253-10, runrate=5.16
Forbes 9-2-34-5
Akbar* 14 (16 balls)
Briggs XI require 254 runs to win

Battrick League Final

Bushwackers 273-6, runrate=5.46
Barker 10-0-56-0
Cole* 46 (49 balls)
Fieldhouse 32 (21 balls)
Cricket Geniuses require 274 runs to win

End of Over 50: 273-6, runrate=5.46
Barker 10-0-56-0
Cole* 46 (49 balls)
Fieldhouse 32 (21 balls)

Good score posted by Bushwackers, and it should be a good chase. The opening partnership is going to be vital, but I can bat to no.8, Cummings.

Vintners, what are your views after the first half?

Where is everybody??

End of Over 50: 220-10, runrate=4.40
Penford 9-0-43-4
Hemmings* 4 (6 balls)

Bit on the low side by me, but...

0.6 W Otto to Garner
Superb catch behind by Zafarullah
1.1 W Fieldwick to Walton
BOWLED! A touch short, Walton tries to work it to the on side, gets an inside edge and gets bowled.

End of Over 2: 2-2, runrate=1.00, reqrunrate=4.56 (220-10)
Fieldwick 1-0-1-1
Stephens* 1 (4 balls)
Danby 0 (1 balls)

I think the total is an average one and well in your range. I can only hope my bowlers take some early wickets. Regardless it should be an exciting chase.

It will be an exciting chase and will go in to the las 5 overs. My openers have a tendency to play it slowly in the first ten and then boom, like in the semi-final. I just hope that they don't play it too slow and get out. That will leave me in a bit of a whole.

Oh DAMN!!!

4.3 W Heggett to Mapes
Well, that made the batsman look a bit of a fool. Straight between bat and pad to hit middle halfway up!
Big Blow!

Big wicket! could still go either way with it being so early, but a few more early wickets could cause panic!

End of Over 5: 23-1, runrate=4.60, reqrunrate=5.58 (273-6)
Heggett 3-0-17-1
Hume* 7 (10 balls)
Holme 3 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Mapes b. Heggett 9 (FOW: 18/1)
