Tom Baker announes new Captain of Kent County Cricket Club.

It is with great pleasure that I have decided to announce Sarvesh Mali as the new captain of Kent. I hope that he will be take us on to many a sucess and make Kent one of the best Club's in the County Circuit. Sarvesh is one of the most popular people inthe squad and I feel my decision was the right one to make. I also would like to announce the new vice-captain as being Connor Rawlings. His batting experience will be crucial to some of the younger guys here and I feel he is a mature character who commands great respect and will be able to assist Sarvesh well.

Now that the Captain has been announced, it is time to show the fixtures. Before the start of the season, Pakistan are touring England and so Kent will be playing a One Day Warm up Match with them at Canterbury. I am still not sure whether to autoplay the matches or to play them myself. Make sure you vote in the poll.

Welcome to this limited over match between Kent and Pakistan at Canterbury. This match will be very useful for both sides as Pakistan are currently touring England and will want to get some much needed game time in. On the other hand Kent have recently been taken over by Planetcricket who have appointed Tom Baker as their Chief Executive. With the sacking of all the players and the replacement of 20 youngsters this is a real risk for Kent.

Kent named there team earlier today for this big match.

With there being three all rounders in the side it will hopefully give them a lot of depth in the bowling attack although it might leave them a bit bare, in batsmen if they get into trouble.

Pakistan have named a very strong side for this clash, with the likes of Inzy, Kaneria, Akhtar and Yousuf playing. This looks like it will be a very tough match for Kent and they are going to need all their players to perform for them.

Mali didn't get his captaincy of to a great start when he loss the toss and was put into bat by Inzy on a very hard track which will favour the likes of Akhtar. Hopefully the Kent batsmen can post a nice big total, which Pakistan will struggle to chase down.

So with the first ball about to be bowled by Akhtar, the Kent openng pair of Cripps and Rawling are under great pressure to perform. Stay tuned to find out what happens.
