ps3 player out of his depth

im a ps3 user through and through i only use my pc to look at things i know i shouldnt.
Anyway without sounding to stupid can you use a controller to play this game or which one i need as i cant see me being able to use the keys to play

Any controller will work if you map the keys with a program like joy2key.

thanks for the help i have to admit im a man with limited knowledge on all this stuff a bit more in depth info is greatly needed i dont honestly know where to start

joy2key | Get joy2key at SourceForge.net
Will make the computer think that you're pressed keyboard buttons when you hit joypad buttons. Play around with it as it's pretty simple.
