And for me, they've completely buggered up the punching system. Yes, Total Punch Control (TPC) could result in an uppercut instead of a hook occasionally, but it felt as though you were by and large in control of your punches - hence the name. Full Spectrum Punching or whatever its called just feels like the stick equivalent of button mashing. It doesn't feel tactical or strategic and unlike TPC, it doesn't feel as though you're in control to a great degree.

The speed of the fighting is great now (although the impact sound is way too arcadey and desperately needs toning down) and the damage modeling is superb. I don't like the default camera view in the demo (and couldn't find any way to change it). It's fine when you're on one side of the ring, but as soon as your man moves to the other side, the controls feel like they're reversed. My favourite camera was the one from behind your boxer in FNR3 - Swing cam? It also made it easier to target punches as well, since you could easily see where the most damage was being done.

The thing that annoys me the most is the sodding button mashers have been catered for! Why couldn't they have included TPC as well as the new method - since they've included button mashing as well for the arcade kids?
In FNR4, they introduced the buttons via a patch - if they don't do the same for TPC, then it's unlikely I'll get the game - and that's a disappointment because I really liked the look of the improved Legacy Mode and Champion mode.

If it ain't broke... :facepalm

The control system is beginning to grow on me now, but it still feels a bit random throwing punches - with TPC, the only two punches that I got mixed up were uppercuts/hooks - everything else was fine. Now, if I go for a one-two, it often comes out as a jab and a hook - not what I wanted.

I'm going to rent this one - the demo hasn't got me hooked enough.
