Derrick Bird, I know his son Jamie. Absolutley terrible, never would of thought this kind of incident could happen here :/ I live in Whitehaven and often visit Seascale and Egremont it could easily of been me dead.

The first killing seems to have been targeted, the other 40 or so people he attempted to shoot were random they think.

You can't get handguns, but you can buy Shotguns in shops in rural areas (ie, villages). A friend used to live near a Shotgun shop near Exeter. Of course, they exist illegally, but farmers have them and shooting clubs exist. Just can't buy them in supermarkets like in the US.

Are there absolutely no handguns? Thats a great idea as that causes most of the shooting deaths here, although I have one myself

Well he is just my team leader, a few years older than me and a cool guy, I lucked out. If it was the department supervisor I don't even want to know what would have happened.
