It is so annoying when someone eats making hell lot of noises and doesn't seem to realize it even if we keep staring at him/her in dismay.

I completely agree.

This thread is made LAME by some of the rubbish posted in it. But what it seems like is that the brits talk about being hungover and drinking whilst the sub continental members still talk about cricket.

Talking of being hungover Ive got a two dayer party starting tomorrow night. I say two dayer, I think tomorrow we're just getting together as we're going camping on the Monday but I know I certainly shan't be sober for the duration.

Four bottles of Fosters (they were on offer :p), bottle of vodka, bottle of gin and two bottles of Dr Pepper. My tipple of the month being Dr Pepper and Gin; I urge people to try it as its pretty awesome.

Should be a great trip provided I don't go overboard tomorrow.

Want to hear more of my delusion of grandeur? Yes? Great!

See, now I was thinking. Let's say I go to HKUST, and it turns out I'm a natural at engineering. One of the best in the class, etc. Now say I invent something for a project, develop some method or technique for something like, I don't know, recycling. Say I create something that can recycle stuff like plastic and oil efficiently and in an environmentally friendly way. I become famous for this, I get scholarship and head-hunted, and life is good.

And then one day, people from the Hong Kong government come to speak to me. They want me to work for them. However, not in recycling, but for the army, in developing new weapons for the Chinese/Hong Kong armies. They will pay off my tuition fees for my bachelors, masters and Phd. I get a nice lovely, 2 storey flat in a popular place of town. A good car, expense account, and working for the government I can basically do what I want when I'm not toiling away in their labs developing new methods of warfare. My family is nicely taken care of, I have security guards, and I'm living the dream.

BUT...I'm developing means to kill other people. Innocent people. And I don't like that. Should I still take the job?

Hey, if it is anything like Australia's weaponry, all it will do is cost billions too much, not do what it is supposed to and never get used.

I like moral dilemma! :D
Well depends entirely on your situation and your own social consciousness. For some people money and a good life is the main objective. Others are more morally bound to their work field. Questions is what type of person are you?

I don't want to kill people :(

But if I don't do it I'll be targeted by the HK/Chinese government as a potential threat, and I don't want that :(
