This thread is made LAME by some of the rubbish posted in it. But what it seems like is that the brits talk about being hungover and drinking whilst the sub continental members still talk about cricket.
Want to hear more of my delusion of grandeur? Yes? Great!
See, now I was thinking. Let's say I go to HKUST, and it turns out I'm a natural at engineering. One of the best in the class, etc. Now say I invent something for a project, develop some method or technique for something like, I don't know, recycling. Say I create something that can recycle stuff like plastic and oil efficiently and in an environmentally friendly way. I become famous for this, I get scholarship and head-hunted, and life is good.
And then one day, people from the Hong Kong government come to speak to me. They want me to work for them. However, not in recycling, but for the army, in developing new weapons for the Chinese/Hong Kong armies. They will pay off my tuition fees for my bachelors, masters and Phd. I get a nice lovely, 2 storey flat in a popular place of town. A good car, expense account, and working for the government I can basically do what I want when I'm not toiling away in their labs developing new methods of warfare. My family is nicely taken care of, I have security guards, and I'm living the dream.
BUT...I'm developing means to kill other people. Innocent people. And I don't like that. Should I still take the job?
