i am damn scared right now what if I was there for 10 more minutes

then you'd probably be dead. Had a similar moment recently on my canoe trip. We decided to avoid this one area with CLASS B rapids and take the long route around some lakes (including carrying the canoe on land). A party of 2 guys went through them and one of them drowned.

I think more than that you need to control the borders. Too easy to get into India without papers. Open borders with a few of the northern countries if I am not mistaken.

We'll know soon enough but I'm sure like Mumbai this is probably going to be foreign terrorists and not domestic ones. The Mumbai bombers came in on a boat right? what have they done about that since? is the bay area patrolled by coast guards? or can any jackass row his way into India's largest city and do what he wants.

Control the borders, stop a lot of this nonsense.

Yes, the coast area is much more secured now. There are special vehicles(convertible) which patrol the area.

This is sad. Right when negotiations between the Pakistan and India were gaining some momentum, an unfortunate even like this occurs. I am sure there are forces at work that do not want peace between the two nations. They act soon as soon they feel the countries are on the path to peace. My condolences to the families of the dead and injured. This is what we have to face in Pakistan every other day or so. Lets hope peace prevails over madness.
