I really doubt that is why he was banned. I struggled enough to ban people for obviously being retarded, the admins aren't the sort to hand out permas for saying that

As a policy we avoid discussing bans, but I suppose in this case I can't exactly avoid it.

The ban was a result of a recent string of personal attacks against specific members, the one that got him banned (he'd been infracted previously) being a personal attack on another member that was deliberately culturally offensive. If that post was a once off it could have been ignored or just received the 5 point infraction for personal attacks, but it was a long term pattern that the staff were sick of.

I could accept Mark's post style being a bit inflammatory, but we can't accept someone personally attacking multiple members and doing so in a highly offensive manner.
