The Recent Sushant Singh Rajput Suicide made reminded me of my journey of battling through the mental scars of depression.

Depression & Mental health are some serious issues. The trigger point for an individual can be different but the end point is you have this feeling of lonesomeness ,hopelessness, worthlessness, social withdrawal, unusual sleep times & reluctancy in making some basic decisions etc.You sort of stuck in this never ending loop cursing yourself which can last for weeks, months or years.

In 2017 for almost 6 months I suffered from depression the trigger point for me being were some glaring personal issues (mostly family ones) & the inability to find a job for over a year made me reflect strongly on my life eventually distancing myself from every social activity & going in this mode of complete shutdown where I completely avoided communicating with the people I knew.

How did I get out of it? One of my close friend decided to give me a visit at home & talking about my issue with him did help easing out some of the negative thoughts & then a chat with another close friend who motivated & supported me on the issue further eased the difficulty. It was not an instant recovery process but a gradual one which lasted for more than 3 months in my case which helped me battled depression & slowly combat the way out of that terrible phase.

So anyone who is feeling down emotionally do talk to your love ones (friends, family etc.) consulting with someone does help & if possible get a medial treatment as well.

Ah bless you. My good friend has mental health issues, she has been sectioned many times under the mental health act, mainly for her own protection as she's never been a danger to anyone.
She has medication and talking therapy.
At her worst she hears voices and has delusions. At her best she comes to work with me, she loves doing all my photocopying, making tea and coffee for my staff, and she vacuums the office before we finish for the day.
It just gives her something to focus on and a purpose in life, i would love to employ her full time but she's not ready for a commitment like employment.
Mental health issues can hit anyone, i feel for anyone who suffers this cruel illness.
Good on you Bigby Wolf for sharing with us your own struggles :)
Stay strong! ;)

It is astonishing how widespread mental health issues are, and yet how little attention we pay to them, especially in the subcontinent. Thankfully awareness about these issues is being increased, but there is a long way to go. We need to educate as many people as we can.
