I've decided I'd like to learn about cricket that was the reason i joined over a year ago, so I'll be reading posts to see what i can pick up, I'll be asking questions too!

Ans 1. I didn't get your question.
Ans 2. Yes, the core of a Cricket Ball is obviously made up of a cork.
Ans 3. There are 11 players in the PLAYING TEAM and rest are on the bench.(The Substituted player can only do fielding on the ground, He/She Can't Do Bowling or Batting.)

The little trophy that England and Australia play for is actually the replica of the original urn, which had burnt ashes from bails of a stump, not cricket bat. The original urn is in possesion of the MCC. Hope this was helpful
