I have a cricket question!
If a batter hits the ball and a fielder catches it, is that batter automatically out of the game?

If a batter hits the ball and a fielder catches it, is that batter automatically out of the game?

If the fielder from the fielding team catches the ball hit by the batsman before it touches or lands on the ground, then yes the batter is out!
The Time depends on what format of cricket it is.How long does a game of cricket last?
Does cricket go into extra time like football?
If a spectator catches the ball does the batsman have another go?

Brilliant! I'm learning fast thanks to you guys! The Time depends on what format of cricket it is.
There are 3 formats in the international Cricket:
1. T20 (20-20 Overs)
2. ODI (50-50 Overs)
3. Test Match (It takes 4-5 days)
A Overs consist of 6 balls.
A cricket goes for super Overs in case of tie scores.
If a spectator catches the ball then he/she has to return to the fielder.
Even I didn't know about this. I thought they used the original one. Thanks for clarifying it.The little trophy that England and Australia play for is actually the replica of the original urn, which had burnt ashes from bails of a stump, not cricket bat. The original urn is in possesion of the MCC. Hope this was helpful![]()
Now it is correct.A cricket goes for super Overs in case of tie scores in case of T20 and World Cup knockouts
Even I didn't know about this. I thought the used the original one. Thanks for clarifying it.![]()

It is quite difficult to explain LBW.
It stands for Leg Before Wicket.
When the ball hits the batsman's body (except hands) without having contact with the bat then LBW happens.
There are certain conditions after which it is given OUT.
1. Ball shouldn't pitch/hit the ground outside the line of leg stump.
2. The impact where the ball hits the pads should be on the stumps(only when batsman tries to play a genuine shot).
3. If there was no pads and batsman the ball should hit the stumps.
