Reps

How can you manage to give a neutral rep to someone? As far as I can see you can only approve or disapprove a post. But I have received a few neutral reps... ?

If you have a negative reputation then negative rep won't work, so it'll show as neutral- I've got plenty of them, people with negative reputations seem to hate me for some reason.....

Okay so if a negative rep person gives you a negative rep its a neutral. Hmm that isn't so good after all. :D Yeah, people tend to dislike authority. Especially if the authority dislikes them. ;)

Have a question about this ...

Now that reputation points do not "mean" anything, meaning, you can win/lose them by betting, shouldn't this procedure be changed. A person could just have lost a lot of reputation points in betting even though his posts might in fact be thoughtful.

Hence me posting this earlier in the thread

Yes the fact that you can bet and win reps using vbookie means reputation shouldn't be taken so seriously. It is after all a bit of fun.

msamina, just think of it as virtual money in a society which pays you when you say something thoughtful (gee I wish that existed in real life). Just because you say thoughtful things does not necessarily mean you do thoughtful things (make good bets). :D

One certainly cannot predict the outcome of something. So, betting is always risky. All I am saying is that even if a person a negative reputation gives out reputations it should matter.

Of course it should matter. I was just joking. But just to clarify, technically you cannot your bet yourself into a negative reputation because you can only bet as much as you have. And that is put into the bet. So if you bet everything you end up with 0 (neutral) reps. If you lose the bet you remain on 0, if you win your reputation increases like crazy. This does make it easier to go into the negative, but as it has been said its all not serious, anyway. If you really wanted a foolproof plan you would have to make it very complicated, somewhat like the ICC ODI rankings. :D

I don't like betting on Vbookie. There is so much of a risk that you will lose some reputation points. I prefer to earn my reputation points, by making good and thoughtful comments in my posts. My reputation page is full of negative at the moment, for bumping an old topic. My only good reputation is for a post in the Brian Lara International Cricket forum, that put everyone's mind at rest.

I stopped betting on Vbookie after I lost 100 points through it :(

Wow you make me, an amateur vBetter, seem like a cheat! To be honest, I have made net gains of 14 points on vbookie.

True... :cheers

There are many lunatics and psychos running loose here.
Some idiot(whom I suspect to be a staff member) added negative rep for a spelling mistake I did.
How annoying is that.

If -ve rep is going to be given if u use colour fonts, then why have the admins provided them.

There are psychos on this forum. If I get a -ve rep for this post,it will be one of the confirmatory tests.

I used to get worked up and sad when I get -ve rep.

From the advice of some sane members(Squlain Khan,The Gas??) I started ignoring the psychos, with a smile.
