I think this is actually pretty sweet. A very unique concept, and potentially a great one. The best talent from all over the world will get to play and grow under the 'Royals' banner, and could eventually represent the Royals in one of 5 different T20 competitions. Very exciting in my opinion.

Well as a Royals fan (More of a Warne and Smith fan) I like the concept.

It's great in theory, but what happens when the entire team gets put up for auction next year? Maybe Warne and Graeme Smith won't be bought by the Royals next year, meaning potential partnerships with Hampshire, Victoria and Cape Cobras will lose a lot of their meaning.

I don't know about the other teams but Victoria can't change their name to Victoria Royals. They are the Bushrangers which they have worked hard to build up. However wouldn't surprise me if they went to the dark side and took the cash over their beloved Bushrangers.

For some reason I see this failing Like Sifter said, it sounds all well and good but the chances of everything falling into place are slim. It's a good way to make money though as they could get some big name sponsers to sponser each team.

I think Twenty20 should be treated as a completely seperate code of cricket, like rugby league and union.
