From the SACA site:
Local talent is again the theme for the West End Redbacks squad in 2006-07.

Selectors have offered contracts to 17 senior players, with five young talented players receiving a rookie contract.

The squad sees 2005-06 rookie and left-arm swing bowler from Southern District, Gary Putland added to the senior list.

The rookie list introduces 21-year-old batsman from Sturt Lachlan Oswald-Jacobs, Chadd Sayers, 18, from Woodville, and 20-year-old batsman from Southern District Simon Roberts. Tom Plant and Ken Skewes both have been retained on the rookie list.

General manager of cricket at the SACA Harvey Jolly said the selectors again have focused their attention to youth and local talent.

?The selectors have continued to show faith in the product of Grade cricket and have continued to show faith in the young talented cricketers in this State.?

? The SACA is thrilled with the 25 players we have on our list and we look forward to another significant step towards sustained success. After the promise shown last season and from my discussions with the playing group it is clear they are excited about being part of the future here in South Australia.?

Full article here Great stuff. I look forward to another great season for the Redbacks.

Should be interesting seeing how those rookie batsmen go this season. SA seem to have a knack for producing good batsmen like Lehmann and now Cosgrove. No more speedsters like Tait or Dizzy from them though :(
