Shoaib likely to return after clearing dope test

Shane Warne took drugs - he ws forgiven

Pure hypocrisy.
No, because Warne was suspended and forgiven after he had served his sentence. Shoaib's suspension was overturned after a few months. That's why people won't forgive him, because he shouldn't be playing still.

But just because people there aren't fleeing doesn't mean the cricketers don't have a right to feel unsafe.
Crickets have EVERY right to feel unsafe.

However, there is nothing to feel unsafe about in Pakistan. With around 20 security peoples around you, I honestly don't think anybody would be able to do anything.

You don't even need 20 security guards per person.

The only real security threat is the girls here who want pictures and autographs...

He has basically served his sentence

Initially 3 months. After playing one day of international cricket he didn't play till October. 13 months. :)

First of all, his sentence was 2 years. He didn't technically serve any of that because it was overturned on a technicality. Any time he missed was due to injuries or the suspension he received from the PCB for different reasons. You'd be hating him too if he didn't play for your favorite team.

And whats wrong with a technicality? ;)

He got lucky, simple as that. He is YET to fail any dope test from that point onwards, so it seems he has learned his lesson.

Now we have to wait till he hits Asif with a bat again or something of the sort...

Pure hypocrisy.

Shane Warne admitted he took drugs. Both Asif and Akhtar were found to have drugs in their system and proclaimed innocence. Respect is were it is due, I can respect Warne because he admitted he took drugs. He held his hands up. He was being an adult about it. Not childish.

Why is it going to be a farce? Because the lilly-laced hypocritical Western teams are scared to come to Pakistan?

The CT has always been a farce for me. Pointless competition.

One offence. SHoaib has had hundreds of offences. Warne learnt his lesson. SHoaib was expected to learn his lesson after his first few but he obviously hasn't.

20 security guards or none, if a bomb goes off, you and your 20 guards are going to be hurt in some way.

I would daresay that the security measures for teams in Pakistan are at their absolute highest- Forget the nation's issues; for cricketers, they will never be safer.

Fair enough- That's a different matter.

after all those frustrating times with shoaib i do really want to see him back. he WAS my idol.
when he came back in 2007 against SA he took 4 wickets in that ODI. so lets see if rawalpindi express can do anything this time in the Champions Trophy

Thats right -

Warne's excuse was his "mother gave him the drugs and he took them"

Respecting somebody because they said their mother gave him drugs so he thought it was ok and did them?

Sounds right to me.

"The tablet I took on the 21 January was a fluid tablet, I did not know it was a diuretic. I knew it as a fluid tablet.

Sounds like an admittance to me.

He admitted to taking a fluid tablet (diuretic to you and me), but he claimed he didn't know it contained a banned substance. There is a huge contrast between that and the Shoaib and Asif farces.

Anyway, this is old news.

No matter what you think of the situation there is an aura around it, political instability and bombs going off. No matter where they are, and whether the cricketers are reasonable in thinking they might be in harm's way, it's generally better to be safe than sorry. In this case, sorry means dead.

Once again, either you are not being clear in your posts, or you have not done research.

Mohammad Asif admitted that he took an energy drink which can produce nandrolone.

He said he did know that the energy drink would make him more competitive and "fired up" (Nandrolone), but he didn't it was banned; he thought it was a drink such as gatorade.

Besides, how is that admitting it?

He's just using the "I didn't know" excuse, which you CONDEMNED.

They are two different bits of the argument.

Taking of the drug
Knowing what it does or not.

I thought Asif had denied taking the drugs? Or was that the 2nd time around?

Tbh though, I am completely bored of this whole drugs debate. I can't be bothered with it any more it is repetitive. Rather talk about the good side of cricket.
