Shots -straight down the wicket

I can hardly get any runs straight down the wicket in test matches (Mid-off and mid-on region). The straight drive is pretty much a no for me as it is always played to a fielder. I was playing with England and scored 367 and very few runs (if any) were down the wicket.

Playing in the V (Mid off-Mid on arc) is a very positive trait to posses. But all the runs are mostly square of the wicket on either side or through mid-wicket or the cover region.

Any tips on getting runs straight down the track would be appreciated.

Bring your fielders in closer and use eddies patch not many 4s but lots of 1s and 2s///
