It does take less time reinstalling windows than trying to repair the virus attack, but you have to reinstall all the programs, and settings etc.. could be a pain.

I tried that actually! Even though Spybot detected it, it couldn't clean it permanently! After restarting the system, the spyware was still there!

Previously I've had similar issues, and experience tells me that it takes less time to reinstall XP, than it takes for fire-fighting!!:mad:

Sybot tells you the location of the spyware though ,you could go in safe mode and take the spyware by horns(in short delete it in safe mode).
