Side winder config

Can anyone tell me how to re-config the Microsoft SW gamepad for this game? The default set-up is cr@p!!!!

BTW, after much debating, I bought this game, and one or two quirks aside, I quite like it....at the moment....!

I dont have the game, but I believe you can't change the defaults. There are programs which allow you to do this check out
