Mathew Sinclair, the opening batsman, was among the 20 players to receive contracts from New Zealand Cricket for the 2006-2007 season. Sinclair, who missed out on a contract last year, after averaging only 28.33 from four Tests in 2004, bounced back with a strong season for Central Districts where he scored 664 runs with three centuries and four fifties from nine domestic matches.

Macca, Tuffy, and Harris are gone. Adams is back on the list as is Sinclair. Well deserved for Sinclair, he was the domestic player of the year for NZ. Adams is a talent, his batting has been wasted by the Black Caps lately but with Cairns go I sense that could change.

great...sinclair's a good player...
but dissapointed about tuffy not getting the contract...

does this mean, he can't play international cricket for the Whole year?

Of course. And if every player on the contract list is injured, New Zealand will have to forfeit every single match.

I think that's slightly wrong; a national team can draft in players without a contract if they feel their form is up to standards. So, how exactly did Stuart Clark, Phil Jacques and Mitchell Johnson play international cricket before they picked up a central contract?

Tuffey has been no good lately. Since that ODI against Aus where he conded 16 runs in an over most from extras he hasn't been his normal self. NZ look to have moved on from him.

I was being sarcastic.

Haha, I was suspicious of that at the time I posted, but I had to leave quickly for a football match so I was kind of, err, rushed; you of all people to get something like that wrong...:p
Looking at your post again, my reply sounds really stupid now!
