Sliders & difficulty guidance...

Hi,

Need a bit of a steer on difficulty levels if possible and how sliders may help me

Played a few one off games on Easy and Easiest and managed to pick up wickets easy and found batting Ok, managed a top individual score of 85

I've started a 50 over international tournament and selected easy as the level yet found it a whole lot more difficult when batting, constantly late timing and despite me selecting easy noticed the difficulty level was "pro" so if the level is pro what am I selecting by choosing easy?
I then changed Pro to Average but still found it difficult can you not change this mid game?
I then tried a custom sliders game by increasing the stat to 100 in terms of how soon I see the ball length etc in the bowlers hands, this extra time helped but the bowler only seemed more skilful and quicker so I still struggled which I guess was down to some of the other slider settings?

So is the pro setting the level of the opposition and easy is what I've set my difficulty in terms of timing etc? Also if I wanted to recreate an easy/average setting on the sliders with more notification of the ball in the bowlers hand using the 100 setting etc what would the other sliders need to be? Any auto settings for difficulty on this? Feel it would be a helpful guidance in the game if it isn't there already?

Thanks in advance, clearly a struggling of sorts...newbie!

Reduce the foot placement and shot timing difficulty. I have tried keeping it to 20 in Pro difficulty.

How can you change sliders within out of the box difficulty levels (PRO, VETERAN, LEGEND etc.)? My understanding was that the sliders only come into picture in case of Custom difficulty else they are ignored. @MattW, is my understanding correct?

Pro is how AI approaches the game. And custom difficulty is some thing related to your batting and bowling difficulty. This is what I infer from the information presented in the loading screen. And I have seen the differences with custom setting.

I play with Pro and custom batting difficulty.

How do the sliders work if you are playing online? I keep them out of the box at the mo but can your opponent get an advantage? Thanks

when you start an online match there is a setup that says NORMALISE SKILLS -- so I assume that neutralises sliders :) but it is a YES/NO option so i suppose its up to whoever hosts the match.

Pro would be match difficulty, with custom batting difficulty, no?

Got it. I was confusing the AI difficulty (PRO, VETERAN etc.) with user difficulty levels (MEDIUM, HARD, CUSTOM etc.)

"Normalise Skills" is to ensure the skills & attributes of the two teams are matched but I don't think it affects the sliders/modifiers. E.g., I can set "Bounce" to 0 and "Drift", "Spin" and "Max Pace" to 100 but you wouldn't have any idea. IMO the difficulty level and Gameplay slider settings should be visible before the match so you can decide which team you want to select and have an idea what to expect before the match starts.

Normalise skills - which as an aside is used for quick matches - just scales the player ratings, to make the overall skills of each side equal - which nullifies the effect of people who play with teams with all 100 rated players.

Sliders have no effect online.

As for the general question - look at the headings on the sliders screen - those under the batting/bowling sections need the relevant difficulty set to custom, while the physics sliders work regardless.

Matt couple of questions...

1. Is there a default online matches difficulty?

2. How can we know what are the default slider settings for say "Medium" & "Pro" or "Hard" and "Veteran" etc.? I mean if we have an idea what these out of the box difficulty levels correspond to in terms of sliders, it would be easier for us to determine the slider set.

Point 2 was my main question in the OP

I think Matt is saying if you select say Pro level the changes you still make to pitch physics filters will incorporate in the game for example setting up a green top or crumbly pitch etc

Any changes made to batting or bowling window etc will not change if you've selected a game level
Is this correct....apologies my iPad refuses to let me select commas or question marks throughout typing this message.....nice

My question's slightly different. I know that sliders won't have any affect if you select out of the box difficulty level (say "Medium") and only works for Custom difficulty level. But I'm interested to find out what slider sets the default out of the box difficulty levels correspond to (e.g., "Medium" & "PRO" means "Shot difficulty", "Shot Timing" and "Footwork" are set to 40). This will help users calibrate the game as they can choose out of the box difficulty levels they are most comfortable with, take a look at the corresponding sliders and then change the difficulty level to Custom and tweak the sliders slightly from the closest OOB difficulty level ones.

Yes agreed CO, if we know these we know how to adjust up or down etc

I've since noted the answer to my question re sliders and levels so no need to answer that, thanks

I have exactly the same question as I wanted to use sliders but use the settings from the easy difficulty mode as a base. Did you find a way of discovering which settings are used for the different difficulty modes?

Whenever I launch a game in different difficulty modes the slider settings seem to be the same.
