Johnson returns from an elbow infection and Haddin has been included although he may be replaced within the week if his fitness is not improving. Hilfy was a bit rusty for most of the Aus A game, but he took the second new ball and bowled 5.5-3-3-5 with it; the result was a tidy 5/80 for the match and combined with a 50, it made pretty certain that he was fit for a return.

After taking part in the tour of New Zealand, Phil Hughes acquired a shoulder injury while boxing and as such, a replacement was needed. Smith, who is already in the ODI squad, is joined by his NSW team-mate Khawaja as the rookies in the squad. The aggressive Smith scored four centuries in the Shield, with an average of 77.20 and took 21 wickets with his leg spin, which included a best of 7/87.█ A more stylish left hander, Khawaja scored three centuries with an average of 63.45 and appeals to the selectors as a player who can play high in the order. Born in Islamabad, Khawaja could face a curiously apt debut against the country of his birth.

Pretty interesting decision from the CA. Usman Khwaja looks a bit more talented than other domestic players. Excited to see what he does in his debut in Test Cricket.

Chances are he wont be getting one atleast in this tour anyway. He's only in the squad to replace one of the middle order batsmen incase of injury, and CA selectors are pretty releuctant on dropping batsmen on their form. So unless a batsman gets injured he wont be debuting anytime soon. :)

An interesting move by CA. I hope such a move is not politically motivated. :spy
