How many chances does duminy deserve? He has played 31 tests now and is averaging 34. Also with elgar being able to bowl there is no way jp's bowling can keep him in the side.

Probably in this situation de kock wouldn't be ideally suited but this is a unique situation. Still believe he would have made more runs and concede less byes then villas did on this tour.

I partially agree with Duminy as I fell he is riding on his Aus knock for too long, however its hard to drop one person in this series...

I remember a series from 99 ... when NZ had toured India for three tests. As it happened all three tests kiwis found themselves too far behind to win heading into the final day and had to bat the final four sessions out.

All three games then finished in blockathons and the kiwis were able to draw two of the three tests losing only the second test.

This is the closest I can think of for a comparison to this effort from SA. I know this game is not quite done yet ... but that SA have taken it into the final session is quite a feat in itself.

Those having a go at the blocking are wrong. This true cricket ... its harder to score 23 off 244 than it is to score a 100 off 23 deliveries.

I would have agreed with your top 2 if there was no "Spinning" conditions. So i will put Williamson ahead ABD.

Based on what exactly? 1 series where all the batsman struggled for most of it and he will most likely still end up top scorer in the series?

Williamson average in asia is 47.61 while ABD averages 56.32 in Asia.

Its been a huge effort from SA. India would need the quick bowlers to work up some magic here if they are to force a result. Hoping for some magic from Yadav and Ishant to support the spinners. We need to get wickets in the first hour after tea. Otherwise I can see this heading for a draw.

Wow what a start to the final session ... India now have no excuses ... SA built a strong wall for India to demolish ... but now that the main men holding the wall are back in the pavilion India now have to finish the job.

Umesh has worked up some serious reverse swing in this session ... deserves his wickets. 8 down now this could finish rather quickly.

Almost waqaresque that delivery tailing in and breaking the stumps in half.

I must admit the joy I have got out of seeing Yadav reverse it at pace. It is always difficult to face reverse-swinging yorkers. If he can do this, we might have an answer for the wagging tail. Had it been solely spin that did it for India, this win would`nt have meant as much.

Based on the last 5 years performance. Williamson is ahead.

ABD has played 21 matches while Williamson has just 11 overall.
Its fair to compare the last 5 IMO.

a Tour that start very promising ended as a disaster. Won both the odi's and t20's but were dreadfull in the tests and the tests are what matter. Back to the drawing board for England.

Well done to the indian fans even though we disagreed on quite a few issues we still managed to have a good chat in the right spirit.
